The Italian Wars - Total War The Italian Wars, is a modification for Medieval Total War 2 - Kingdoms turn based strategy game by Creative Assembly, covering the time of 1492 - 1559.

The Italian Wars, is a modification for Medieval Total War 2 - Kingdoms, aiming for a complete overhauled game play experience during the time frame of the Italian Wars. Set up on a complete new map, with several new factions, scripts, traits, ancillaries and units, the player will have to find his way trough historic events and choices, to lead his faction through more than 60 years of constant war.

Hey there,

since we have reworked all unit stats, as well as, their recruitment time, though we did not had the time to address the artillery units yet.
So here we go!

There are two factors at work here.
The time to built the actual cannon and to recruit and train the men to crew that very cannon.

Well, since there are no records in the Real Recruitment guidelines about cannons we have to come up with something on our own.
As for the recruitment time of the cannon crew we'd suggest it would take two to four month to train them properly on handling the cannon.
Problem is we have no clue how long it would take to built a cannon, so in case you have any idea, thoughts, suggestion in this matter. Let us know with your comment below!

Hey there,
just a brief update! We have implemented mercenary units to every province, also we have completely implemented the Rebellious Peasants. We decided to set aside the Borghese Family, simply due our lack of manpower and time. We have addressed several issues with our newly added ancs and traits, as well. Next stop will be the review of our event text.

We were able to melt down the pending task to seven larger topics.

A short explanation on the numbers in the right upper corner.
We weight each task with a number from 1-5.
1 means super easy and quickly done, while 5 is very time consuming and challenging.

A note on the tasks:

'Events - New Factions' - Well includes all new event ideas for the newly added factions

'Anc's & Traits' - Most of them are done, though some are still missing. Actually the task with the smallest effort.

'Native Languages' - Would mean to search for Turkish and Arabic native speakers to complete the translation of the still missing language files.

'Condotta-Script' - This script was explained in a video preview some time ago, to put it short, it would be the counter part to the already included mercenary script. In case you play one of the minor factions you would get job offers as a condottiere for the major factions.

'Review - Event texts' - Simply means to check all currently included event texts, if there is something to add for the newly added minor factions. So they make sense.

'Balancing & Testing' - of course that one has to be done at the end of all tasks, I put it on the board nevertheless, because it would be possible to skip it. Of course with negative effects playability and stability of the mod.

'Emerging factions - Rebellious Peasants & Borghese Family' - The full implementation of this two shadow factions for the Swabian League and the Republic of Siena.

Hello everyone,

yes, it has been quite a while since our last encounter with The Italian Wars - Ultimate.
Sadly, we have not been able to carry on with the mod as planed and so there was no progress at all over the last year/months.

Since lately, we were bombarded with messages asking if the project will be continued/finished etc. ... well...
We won't announce any comeback, simply because Aneirin/Neadal's time is still very limited.
Nevertheless, he'll have a look a the mod and check what tasks are still pending and what ideas may be expandable.
This 'review' done, we'll consider either continuing on TIW or releasing it in its current state to the public,
so that maybe someone else carry on or not

In any case, thank you all for your true commitment, we were very moved!
