Fondazione Sozzani The Fondazione Sozzani, established in 2016 by Carla Sozzani, continues all relevant public functions that the Galleria has supported for the past 30 years.
(671)

The gallery is located in a former industrial building, typical of the Milanese architecture. Since its opening it has established itself as one of the most important photography galleries in Italy. Over 260 exhibitions have been shown at the presence of famous photographers, often presenting works that had never been shown in Italy before: Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber, Bert Stern,

Sarah Moon, Paolo Roversi, David Bailey, Hiro, David LaChapelle, amongst others. Twice a year the gallery presents an exhibition related to architecture and design. Amongst them: Franco Albini, Carlo Mollino, Verner Panton, Jean Prouvé, Serge Mouille, Yayoi Kusama. Fashion exhibitions like the ones on Pierre Cardin, Courrèges, Paco Rabanne, Zandra Rhodes and Martin Margiela have been presented as well. Next to the gallery, the bookshop presents a wide selection of new and classic publications on art, architecture, design, graphics and fashion, with a strong emphasis on photography. The foundation has its own publishing company, also dedicated to art, photography, fashion and design.

PRESERVING CULTURE, PROTECTING LIFE
Fondazione Sozzani promotes a fur-free approach in fashion

Fondazione Sozzani believes fashion is more than clothing: it is a powerful artistic and cultural language, capable of challenging conventions, shaping new perspectives and driving change.

Fur-free means promoting creativity, innovation and respect for animals. This choice encourages creatives to explore more responsible materials, in sync with contemporary and future needs.

Fur-free does not mean a limitation on creativity; it represents an opportunity to develop new materials, techniques and forms of expression. The decision supports a more conscious approach to fashion, in line with our principles and values.

We support creatives and brands committed to responsible production and a more respectful future for fashion. Creativity is a choice and choosing fur-free is a responsible choice. For a new generation of creatives who can imagine differently.

FONDAZIONE SOZZANI × CASA IDEALE

During Les Rencontres d’Arles 2026, Fondazione Sozzani presents a collaboration with Casa Ideale by Luca Pronzato and WE ARE ONA.

Curated by Maddalena Scarzella, the exhibition brings a meticulous selection of works from Carla Sozzani’s photography collection directly into the renovated spaces of Villa Bank in Arles, France.

Turning a 1970s villa conceived by architect Émile Sala into a series of contemporary “chambres de vision,” the project echoes the tradition of the wunderkammern, reimagined as an evolving, domestic environment where photography, architecture, and human connection meet.

📍 Villa Bank, 915 chemin de la Batelle, 13200 Arles, France
