SILENCE BECAMES IMAGE
Paul Cupido (NL, 1972)
Born on the island of Terschelling, where the rhythm of life is marked by the tides and lunar phases, Cupido brings a rare vision to the art world, suspended between the concreteness of nature and the abstraction of dreams. His work is not a simple documentation of the visible, but a spiritual quest rooted in the Japanese concept of Mu—the void filled with possibility—and in the sentiment of Mono no Aware, that sweet melancholy linked to the transience of all things.
His works are “visual haiku”: fragments of time in which the human body and the landscape merge, printed with an almost obsessive attention to texture and light, capable of restoring to photography that tactile dimension we often forget. We will be exhibiting his work next at (9-11 October).
A new chapter for our gallery begins today. We invite you to be transported by the vibrant silence of Paul Cupido.
