🇮🇹 L’installazione di Anaïs Horn consiste in una serie di fotografie vintage, prodotte per cataloghi di aste, raffiguranti mobili e oggetti decorativi, sui quali l’artista interviene dipingendo figure femminili evanescenti e scenari surreali che sembrano emergere da questi luoghi abbandonati, come se gli arredi trattenessero tracce di vite e gesti passati. Nel lavoro di Anaïs, la casa e la figura femminile che la abita non è un luogo neutro, ma un serbatoio di desideri, memoria e straniamento.

🇬🇧 Anaïs Horn’s project The Call of the Void consists of a series of found vintage auction photographs depicting furniture and decorative objects, onto which the artist intervenes by painting evanescent female figures and surreal scenarios that seem to emerge from these abandoned spaces, as if the furnishings retained traces of past lives and gestures. In her work, the home—and the female figure inhabiting it—is never neutral: it is a reservoir of desire, memory, and estrangement.

🇮🇹Amelia è una mostra che riunisce i contributi di Beatrice Alici (1992, San Donà di Piave), Lula Broglio (1993, Imperia), Anaïs Horn (Graz), Amalia Vekri (Atene), artiste che si dedicano alla rappresentazione del corpo femminile nelle sue molteplici declinazioni: un corpo sospeso tra il desiderio di autorappresentazione e riflessione sul sé e l’intrusione di uno sguardo altro che ne definisce parametri e caratteristiche.

🇬🇧Amelia is an exhibition bringing together the work of Beatrice Alici (1992, San Donà di Piave), Lula Broglio (1993, Imperia), Anaïs Horn (Graz), and Amalia Vekri (Athens). Their practices explore the representation of the female body in its many forms: a body suspended between the desire for self-representation and self-reflection, and the intrusion of an external gaze that defines its parameters and characteristics.

🇮🇹 La Shtriga prosciuga il sangue e la forza vitale di neonati e bambini durante la notte. Si muove attraverso l’oscurità delle montagne. Nel dipinto: un primo piano di un volto femminile, una mano alla bocca, l’atto del succhiare. Il gesto è insieme tenero e violento. Qualcosa viene sottratto, o offerto, o forse entrambe le cose.

🇬🇧The three 2026 paintings and the two drawings were made during a residency at Villa 31 in Tirana - formerly the residence of Albanian dictator Enver Hoxha, as part of the Art Explora program. The mountains were visible from the window. They kept appearing in the work: as landscape, as atmosphere, as the terrain where certain figures live - figures drawn from Albanian folklore, from vampire B-movies, from online pornographic archives. The flesh in all paintings yellow-green, slightly wrong, slightly luminous, slightly toxic.

Sucker!: The Shtriga drains blood and life force from infants and children at night. She moves through the same mountain darkness. In the painting: a close-up of a female head, a hand at the mouth, the act of sucking. The gesture is tender and violent at once. Something is being taken, or offered, or both.
