Tra Città Studi e Ortica, in quella Milano in rapida ripresa del secondo dopoguerra, dove fabbriche e opifici si integravano nel tessuto urbano, sorge l'Archivio Negroni, custode dell'eredità storica e culturale dell'attrezzeria Edoardo Negroni. Nata ai primi Anni ‘50, ha costruito capolavori miniati a bulino: rulli da laminatoio, punzoni e stampi per riprodurre particolari ornamentali e di argenteria classica. Alle spalle dell'open space oggi a disposizione per eventi temporanei, dietro un'ampia vetrata, si scorgono l'archivio dei preziosi rulli incisi, dei disegni e dei calchi che, insieme ai laminatoi storici e gli utensili per la produzione, ci raccontano di un mondo artigianale da riscoprire. L'attrezzeria vuole infatti rilanciarsi come un “serbatoio” dinamico e attivo di informazioni e riferimenti pratici. È infatti in corso un progetto di valorizzazione e promozione di questo patrimonio artigianale e cultura d'impresa che vedrà nei prossimi anni l'Archivio Negroni presentarsi in un sistema fruibile a un pubblico di specialisti e appassionati. Dietro la vetrata, l'archivio e l'opificio rappresentano una presenza discreta ma evocativa di un luogo ancora vivo che collega passato e presente, in grado di conferire un'atmosfera e dare qualità a uno spazio che non resta anonimo. Between Città Studi and Ortica, in that part of Milan rapidly revived from the post-war period, where factories and mills merged into the urban fabric, Archivio Negroni finds its place as keeper of the historical and cultural heritage of the workshop founded by Edoardo Negroni. Born at the dawn of the ‘50s, the workshop has produced burin engraved artworks: rolling mills, punches, and moulds that reproduce elements of classical silverware and many other ornamental details. The newly restored open space, today conceived for temporary events, looks towards a wide glass wall that reveals the archive full of precious engraved rollers, drawings and samples that, together with the historic rolling mills and the manufacturing tools, tell us the story of a world of arts and crafts yet to be rediscovered. This is because the workshop aims at a relaunch as a dynamic and active “reservoir” rich in information and practical references. A new project of preservation, valorization and promotion of this heritage in craftsmanship and entrepreneurial culture is in the process, and the upcoming years will see Archivio Negroni growing into a space that will be more and more available to an audience of experts and enthusiasts. Veiled by a wall of glass, the archive and the studio represent a subtle but evocative presence of a place that is still alive and connects the past with the present, conferring an atmosphere and providing quality to a location that does not go unnoticed.
