In the last months I’ve been very busy with university, but now I’m finally back to painting… while I work on some new stuff I remembered that I never actually posted this painting from last fall!

Oil on canvas, shown with the MAKU Gallery in Merano.

This one may not be done yet... but I think it needs to rest for a while now.
This image kind of created itself after a weekend of hiking across the snowy alpine winter landscape around my hometown.
I’m really not sure wether it needs a figure or something else in there, or if I shouldn’t touch it anymore. This actually is a problem I always come across, and I often end up ruining paintings by adding more. At the same time it’s kind of empty right now. Then again, the landscapes that inspired this painting were totally empty as well.
We’ll see😂😅🤷🏻‍♀️
Oil on canvas, as usual.

Whistling Christmas songs is my dad’s favorite holiday past time🥰 and he’s the only family member that will patiently sit still while I draw him.

Back to basics... and to when the best model is the one you’ve always got on hand... yourself.
People make self portraits not because they’re in love with themselves, but because their own face is always freely available. Also, there is no risk that the subject won’t like their portrait... so they don’t have to focus on making it look pretty.
It’s also quite an interesting experience, dissecting your own face like it’s someone else’s...
Well, anyway, goodnight everyone❤️🌙

🇬🇧🇬🇧And this is the final result, it was very satisfying to see my illustrations printed out on paper, accompanying one of my favorite adventure stories of all time...
🇮🇹🇮🇹
😍😍😍😍🔥🔥🔥

🇬🇧🇬🇧(Italiano in basso)
I just realized I never shared the illustrations I did for the pirate book “Il Corsaro Nero”!! It’s an Italian pirate book about a gentleman who decides to abandon his castle in Italy (around the 1600s) to avenge his brother, who was cowardly killed by a Dutch count. His vengeance takes him to Central America, where he becomes the most feared and mysterious of all Pirates, brave but generous, yet forever in search of his enemy. As a young girl I DEVOURED that book, along with its 3 sequels, and ever since then I’ve been fascinated with the sea, pirates and adventure. So when I was asked to illustrate this exact book, it was a dream come true. It is available on Amazon, unfortunately only in Italian...
🇮🇹🇮🇹
.armeni
