The 'Eroica', in ten voices 🎆

This summer, the cycle 'Le Salon de Beethoven' reaches its fifth chapter in Geneva with the 'Eroica'. Guided by Chiara Banchini and in collaboration with the Concerts d'été à Saint-Germain , Theresia returns to the historic Église St-Germain for the seventh consecutive year, continuing a journey dedicated to celebrating the grandeur of the Classical symphonic repertoire through the listening culture of Beethoven's own time. 👂

📢 Our latest Insight explores the origins of this fascinating musical practice, the story behind this year's project, and why hearing the 'Eroica' in a chamber version offers not a smaller experience, but a different way of entering Beethoven's musical imagination.

How did Beethoven's symphonies become part of Europe's cultural imagination?

💡 Long before recordings and broadcasting, listeners discovered, studied and shared symphonic masterpieces through chamber performances that brought orchestral music into a more intimate setting. The cycle 'Le Salon de Beethoven' explores this fascinating chapter of musical history from a contemporary perspective.

🥁 On 2 and 3 August 2026, Theresia returns to the Concerts d'été à Saint-Germain in Geneva for the seventh consecutive year and presents the fifth chapter of this project at the historic Église St-Germain. At its centre stands Beethoven's Symphony No. 3 'Eroica' — one of the defining achievements of the symphonic repertoire — heard in the chamber arrangement published by Carl Friedrich Ebers in 1818.

Guided by Chiara Banchini, this residency offers a different perspective on Beethoven's musical imagination: not a reduction of its grandeur, but a closer encounter with its architecture, energy and expressive power 🎶

✨ We’ve been quiet — because we’ve been preparing for something big.

Theresia Orchestra has just completed the first recording period of a project that feels especially meaningful to us: a long-term journey dedicated to the symphonies of Joseph Martin Kraus.

Kraus is a composer who speaks deeply to Theresia’s artistic vision through his unique musical language and musicality. Exploring his music on period instruments, guided by the latest research, is not just a for us, but an essential part of who we are and how we are evolving.

In the coming weeks, we’ll share more — about this project and about the broader path Theresia is taking.
