The Jaunt

The Jaunt The Jaunt combines the two best things in life; Art and travel. We send artists all over the world to find inspiration and create unique screen prints.

Stepping out of your comfort zone and experiencing new surroundings is often quoted as the main source of inspiration for artists. We aim to provide these inspirations to artists by organizing jaunts. Short and pleasurable excursions or journeys. For each jaunt we will send an artist to a new destination. Once arrived, the artist will soak up all of the local impressions and inspirations. From fre

shly brewed local coffee to small boutiques, neoclassical architecture, overcrowded tourist sights and whatever else falls in their way. The artist will work all of these new impressions into a limited edition screen print, thereby creating a unique travel document. The limited edition screen prints are exclusively offered at sight unseen. You know which artist is going to which location, but the outcome is yet to be determined. This way you become part of the inspiration while experiencing the creative process. All at a very affordable price. The screen print will be produced in a limited edition of 50 pieces. Orders for the prints can only be made prior to the artist's journey. If the target of 25 sales has not been reached two weeks before the journey, a full refund for all supporters will be instituted. During the journey the artists will keep a blog and document the many impressions they come across. This way you will be kept up to date with the travels and adventures of the artists, allowing a degree of familiarity with their perspective, before experiencing your new artwork at home. Welcome to the Jaunt.

In 2020 we had planned to send Lisa Congdon (Lisa Congdon) on her first Jaunt trip to Kyoto. But life had other plans. COVID-19 came around and instead of flying people to other places we found places they had never been to before closer to home.

And thus Lisa’s first trip was to the Painted Hills, in her own beloved backyard of Oregon. fast forward to 2023, Japan opened up again and we were finally able to send Lisa on her way to Kyoto.

Whenever we ask people which places they would love to visit, Japan is always on the list. And that makes it one of the reasons for us to not send people to Japan and to surprise them with other destinations instead. Lisa was only the second Jaunt artist to make it to Japan.

Now, Lisa is getting ready for her third trip starting tomorrow. Working together with Lisa made it an obvious and easy choice to invite her for a third trip. This time around Lisa is going on her first ever bikepacking trip. Because of course when we asked if she would be up for that, she jumped at the chance and went right into planning mode. Again, she’ll be exploring her beloved Oregon, while even biking into Northern California as well. It’s going to be an epic ride and we are incredibly excited to be able to follow along on her journey.
