Padre Pio. You'll find his statues, images and little shrines everywhere.. in churches, beside roads, in villages and sometimes in places you really don't expect.
Born in Puglia and based for most of his life at San Giovanni Rotondo, Padre Pio became one of Italy's most widely venerated saints.
Living here, you start noticing just how much his presence is woven into everyday Italian life.
