DCS PROJECTS UPDATE
*************************
We'd like to apologize for the lack of updates on our DCS projects, but, as we said multiple times, DCS development is often way more time consuming than MSFS, and there is a lot of work happening in the background which often does not lend itself to flashy screenshots.
Rest assured we remain committed to DCS product development along with our MSFS products.
DCS G.91
**********
We have made significant progress in several areas. In terms of 3D modeling, for example, we have decided to invest a substantial amount of time increasing the level of detail to an unprecedented level for our standards. The G.91 will have most likely the most detailed 3D model we have ever produced.
Unfortunately on the coding side, the new approach we have decided to take (which allows us an even more detailed subsystem simulation, down to the individual components) is taking way more time than what we expected but we have started integrating the new code in the cockpit, which is a huge step forward.
We do not have a release window yet - we'll keep you posted on the progress.
..and, before the MSFS crowd asks, YES we plan to convert it to MSFS too in future, but the development of a full fidelity DCS module has higher priority.
DCS MB-339
*************
In the past few months, our main focus has been rewriting the radio system to take advantage of the native VOIP features. This required a substantial effort from our side to reorganize the avionics, but the update is now complete and tested, and will be most likely deployed in the next DCS update.
Change log as follows:
* Added: Long PTT press for VOIP, short PTT press for COMM menu
* Fixed: VOIP shows four radios instead of two
* Fixed: Backgroud CDU brightness
We will continue developing the DCS MB-339, although the main target of the DCS team is to complete the DCS G.91 Beta.
