ON THE ROUTES TO THE COMMEDIA DELL'ARTE
Theatre, Art, Flavours and Costume in the European Renaissance
Un workshop internazionale destinato a insegnanti, attori, registi, formatori e operatori teatrali che desiderino arricchire le proprie esperienze professionali lavorando sul linguaggio del corpo e la Commedia dell'Arte.
Il corso, condotto da insegnanti professionisti con una comprovata esperienza nel campo della formazione teatrale, seguirà le Rotte dei Comici dell'Arte, mescolando la pratica teatrale alla storia dell'arte e del costume, con un'attenzione particolare per la Commedia dell'Arte, il cui studio approfondito dovrà fornire ai partecipanti strumenti e tecniche di un lingauggio universale che possa essere riutilizzato nel proprio lavoro.
Storia del Teatro, dell'Arte e del Costume, tecniche teatrali dei Comici dell'Arte, tecniche del linguaggio del corpo, studio della maschera e del suo utilizzo sul palco e nella vita: sono solo alcuni degli argomenti che saranno trattati nel corso del workshop.
Il workshop non vuole infatti essere soltanto un laboratorio di apprendimento di tecniche teatrali, ma intende diventare un percorso di formazione e di scambio, dove alla pratica teatrale si unisca la conoscenza della Storia del Teatro e dell'Arte, e dove lo studio si trasformi in esperienza diretta sul campo, attraverso visite guidate nella città di Firenze, visione di spettacoli e incontri a tema.
The Course, led by theatre professionals with supported skills in drama education, follows "The Routes of Comic Art" combining Theatre Practice with History of Art and Costume, with a particular attention to the Commedia dell'Arte whose study will provide the learners with working instruments and tecnhiques of universal languages that subsequently could be used within the job led by the learners in their own country. The Course will take place in the heart of the Mugello Valley, a few kilometres distance from Florence and offers a rich journey through Art and Theatre, including guided tours of Florence.
History of Theatre, Art and Costume, Commedia dell'Arte theatre technique, universal body language methods, approach and development of mask with use on stage and in life: the above mentioned are just a few of the many topics which will be explored during our innovative program. Practical theatre technique will be taught combined with theory of Comic Art, History of Art and Theatre, creating a true journey for the senses including meetings, notes, images, sounds, scents and flavours.

Il Workshop si terrà presso il Teatro Comunale Corsini di Barberino, nel cuore del Mugello, un'area di grande interesse storico e artistico a pochi kilometri da Firenze. Le lezioni si terranno all'interno del Teatro Corsini, mentre durante le visite guidate a Firenze i partecipanti saranno accompagnati dallo staff Catalyst e da personale altamente qualificato.
Per l'intera durata del workshop i partecipanti saranno ospitati presso l'Agriturismo La Fratta, sulle rive del Lago di Bilancino. Appartamenti arredati, piscina e giardino offrono ai partecipanti relax e spazi per socializzare.
VENUE AND ACCOMODATION
The workshop will be held at the Teatro Comunale Corsini in Barberino di Mugello in the heart of the Mugello valley,
a very interesting historical and touristic area. The theory and practical classes will be held inside the theatre Corsini,
while visits and guided tours of Florence will be accompanied by the organisers and a staff of highly qualified personnel-
Participants will stay at the Agriturismo Borgo la Fratta, a traditional holiday farm house situated on the shores of lake Bilancino.
Comfortable furnished apartments, a swimming pool and common rooms and areas are offered to guests to spend time socializing.
