Florence, once again.

The Florence Choral Course is about to begin, and we are looking forward to welcoming singers and instrumentalists from over fifteen countries, for what remains the only course in the world dedicated entirely to choral music of the Italian Renaissance.

In addition to singers, we look forward to welcoming young sackbut and cornett players led by members of the renowned English Cornett & Sackbut Ensemble, as well as young lute and theorbo players led by Maestro Francesco Romano. We are also thrilled to be joined once again by the internationally celebrated soprano, Dame Emma Kirkby. Now in our 5th Year, we will be celebrating this milestone with a special performance of Alessandro Striggio's epic 40-part motet, Ecce Beatam Lucem.

Mascarade Opera is the training and professional development programme of the New Generation Foundation, dedicated to young international singers and répétiteurs. A space where learning and performance are not separate worlds, but part of the same journey. Where every rehearsal carries the weight of a future stage.

The Showcase is where it all comes together: training, risk, discipline, and transformation.
This is not preparation for opera. This is opera being formed.

Ahead of Villa Belcanto, Mascarade Opera Showcase, we introduce the artists who will bring to life the next chapter of this collaboration between the New Generation Foundation and Mascarade Opera.
Talent, energy, and emerging voices ready to take the stage in an event that unites training, performance, and the future of opera.

The production is directed by Federico Grazzini; the musical side is entrusted to the Filarmonica del Teatro Comunale di Bologna, conducted by Maestro Wyn Davies.

The young emerging Mascarade Opera artists are: Mariam Suleiman, Anna-Helena MacLachlan, Vuyisa Xipu, Taylor Wallbank, Benjamin Gautier, Charles Buttigieg, and Ferdinand Muradyan.
