We headed out to visit Manarola (Dave didn’t make us walk there). It was picture perfect.

The ruins of a monastery along the hike. Gelato rewards, then back to Levanto. I’ll post a nice group pic after I deal with its horizontalness.

Buongiorno from the Italian coast. We headed to Levanto for a few days. Some of us hiked into the Cinque Terre today (to Monterosso). Dave loves getting his steps in, so he also hiked back (while the rest of us had gelato and took a train back).

Do you think he’s tired, or tired of me taking pictures? After a lovely lunch, we visited Santa Croce. So much!

It’s warm here. We started our day visiting an amazing mosaic workshop. I am always amazed at the quality of the work, and the time, patience, skill, and passion that each of their master craftspeople put into their work. The large table took 10 years to make.

More wandering until group dinner time (it was definitely a keeper), and a lovely sunset over the Arno River. Goodnight Florence.

The students had a professional tour guide at the Uffizi Museum today. Dave and I wandered aimlessly waiting for them (groups are limited to 15). So of course we walked 30,000 steps entering numerous churches (San Marco, Ognissanti, Badia Fiorentina…). We may have stopped for a few coffee’s along the way.
