Last week to experience Diego Marcon's The Parents' Room in Naples. The installation spans across multiple rooms and features the film in its purest form, the loop version. Curated by Eva Fabbris and Andrea Viliani.

Opening times 10AM to 7.30PM, last day Nov 8th.

The Parents' Room will then enter the permanent collection of the Museo Madre within the Italian Council framework.

🇬🇧 In 2019, at FIDLab, Diego Marcon was awarded the Vidéo de Poche post-production Prize with The Parents' Room project. Today, The Parents' Room is coming back to Marseille and will be screened at the festival, as part of the 'Other Gems' section. We would like to thank the FIDLab team for partnering with us in this project and for being the first believers in the film.

FIDLab is a workspace to support directors and film projects at any stage - happening every year in Marseille.

Oggi, The Parents' Room torna a Marsiglia e sarà proiettato al festival nella sezione "Other Gems". 🇬🇧 While waiting for The Parents' Room premiere, find an essay on the film on 'Three Works', Diego Marcon's first monograph edited by Eva Fabbris, published by Lenz Press and designed by Lorenzo Mason. Through the analysis of this film, together with 'Monelle' (2017) and 'Ludwig' (2018), the book deals with Marcon's practice and its main facets: melancholy, the uncanny, dark impulses, and childhood. Including new texts by Andréa Picard, Yann Chateigné-Tytelman, Andrea Viliani, Attilia Fattori Franchini, Marianna Vecellio, and Eva Fabbris.

🇬🇧 We are amazed to share the news that 'The Parents' Room' will premiere this July in Cannes at 53rd Quinzaine des Realizateurs, the independent selection of the Cannes film festival. Huge thanks and congratulations to all our partners and the entire film crew (pictured!) who worked relentessly and through the pandemic.

This is the best premiere possible for 'The Parents' Room' and an outstanding achievement by Diego Marcon and the entire crew... See you en la promenade de la croisette from 7th to 17th July!

🇬🇧 “Oh mio cagnetto,” is Diego Marcon’s first book of poems, translated by Johanna Bishop and designed by Julie Peeters, the book is a collection of 81 rhyming couplets that revolve around the missed and mourned figure of a puppy.
It intentionally plays on the ambiguity of its nature, as both a book distributed in conventional ways and an art object that belongs to a museum.The book is now in the collection of Museo Macro (Rome) and it is available on Lenz Press⁣

The artist began working on "Oh mio cagnetto," during his Curva Blu residency on the island of Favignana in 2018 and presented the project his magical open studio that took place in an abandoned theater (pictured); we love to see how seeds sown during the experience grow to fruition over the years! ⁠⁠⁣

🇮🇹 "Oh mio cagnetto," è il primo libro di poesie di Diego Marcon. Tradotto da Johanna Bishop e disegnato da Julie Peeters, è una raccolta di 81 poesiole che ruotano attorno alla figura perduta di un cucciolo. Il libro oggi fa parte della collezione del Museo Macro (Roma) ed è disponibile su Lenz Press; la sua natura è quindi ambigua: un oggetto d'arte che appartiene ad un museo, ma anche un libro distribuito. ⁣

🇮🇹 Siamo felicissimi di annunciare la donazione di due opere d'arte da parte di David Horvitz al Museo Regionale "Agostino Pepoli" di Trapani e all'Ex-Stabilimento Florio di Favignana.

When the Ocean Sounds (Roaring Waves in the distance), 2018.
In questa serie, l'artista tenta di riprodurre il suono dell’oceano umanizzandolo attraverso le lettere dell'alfabeto. Questi suoni sono poi cristallizzati attraverso l’uso di sale marino e acqua di mare, con la consapevolezza dei limiti che tale processo sottintende fin dall’inizio.

A Mountain for Sadao, 2018.
In questo lavoro, la storia degli emigranti giapponesi in America riverbera attraverso le coincidenze della vita personale dell'artista che ricostruisce antiche vicende della sua terra d'origine interagendo con la materia (il marmo) e la memoria (un monumento).

David Horvitz ha lavorato a Favignana nel 2017 nell'ambito di Curva Blu, il programma di residenze d'artista di INCURVA curato da Marianna Vecellio e Attilia Fattori Franchini.

🇬🇧 We are delighted to announce the donation of two artworks by David Horvitz to the "Agostino Pepoli" Regional Museum in Trapani and to the Ex-Stabilimento Florio in Favignana.

When the Ocean Sounds (Roaring Waves in the distance), 2018. In this series, the artist attempts to reproduce the sound of the ocean by humanizing it through the letters of the alphabet. These sounds are then crystallized through the use of sea salt and sea water, with the awareness of the limits that this process implies from the very beginning.

A Mountain for Sadao, 2018.
In this work, the story of the Japanese emigrants to America reverberates through the coincidences of the artist's personal life. The artist reconstructs ancient events from his country of origin interacting with matter (marble) and memory (a monument).

David Horvitz worked in Favignana in 2017 as part of Curva Blu, INCURVA's artist residency program curated by Marianna Vecellio and Attilia Fattori Franchini.
