Fra pochi giorni arrivano a Enna per un periodo di residenza e ricerca Hannah Wiker Wikström, artista e regista svedese, e Saarlotta Virri, regista documentarista finlandese!

Durante il periodo in residenza Hannah e Saarlotta continueranno la ricerca legata alla realizzazione del loro film d’arte ibrido “Burning the Days” (titolo di lavoro).
Il film mette in connessione prospettive sul cambiamento climatico e storie di colonizzazione interna da due diversi lati d’Europa: il meridionale, la Sicilia, e il settentrionale, i Paesi nordici.
In particolare proseguiranno la ricerca sui borghi fascisti, sulla colonizzazione interna della Sicilia, sugli effetti del cambiamento climatico e delle trasformazioni di lungo termine in atto in agricoltura, legate anche alla transizione verso la ‘green energy’, interrogandosi su come questi processi stiano interessando il territorio e toccando il suo paesaggio.
Hannah Wiker Wikstroem (1990) è un’artista e regista svedese formata alla KHIO di Oslo e alla Konstfack Art University di Stoccolma. Nella sua pratica artistica si concentra sulla relazione simbiotica tra forma e ideologia ed alle possibili strategie di disturbo: una indagine speculativa sulla sensualità, la narrazione e la forma da una prospettiva postumanista e neo-materialista. Ha partecipato o esposto tra gli altri a Salts Basel, CHART, Malmö Konsthall e Oberhausen Short Film Festival ed è cofondatrice della piattaforma Post post e Eternal spring - arte e ecologia.
Saarlotta Virri (1993) è documentarista e vive e lavora a Helsinki, Finlandia. Ha conseguito un M.A. in Documentary Film Directing presso l’Aalto University. I suoi film navigano nello spazio tra allegria e tristezza, spesso trovando modalità sorprendenti di trattare il dolore collettivo e privato e la transitorietà di ogni cosa. I suoi lavori si contraddistinguono per una forte e particolare atmosfera che nasce dal focus su dettagli sensoriali, su concetti legati alla giocosità e allo scherzo, girando su pellicole da 16 millimetri. Ha lavorato precedentemente come giornalista. I suoi film hanno ricevuto riconoscimenti in diversi festival tra cui Visions du Réel, Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, Riga IFF, Tampere Film Festival. Dirige POST POST insieme a Kim Ekberg, Hanna Wiker Wikström, e Sawandi Groskind, una compagnia di produzione e collettivo che supporta e sviluppa film sperimentali e artistici.

In a couple of days Hannah Wiker Wikström, Swedish artist and director, and Saarlotta Virri, Finnish documentary director are coming to Enna for their GAP Residency!
During their stay Hannah and Saarlotta will continue research of their hybrid art film Burning the Days (working title). The film connects perspectives on climate change and histories of internal colonization from two sides of Europe; the southern, Sicily, and the northern parts of the Nordics.
They will continue investigating fascist borgos and the internal colonization of Sicily as well as the effects from climate change and the long-term changes in agriculture, the transformation to ‘green energy’ and how these processes are affecting the area and the landscape.
Hannah Wiker Wikström, b. 1990, is a Swedish artist and film director educated at KHIO in Oslo and Konstfack Art University in Stockholm. Her practice deals with the symbiotic relation between form and ideology and possible strategies of disruption. A speculative inquiry into sensuality, narration and form from a posthumanist and new materialist perspective. Has been presented at Salts Basel, CHART, Malmö Konsthall and Oberhausen Short Film Festival among others and is a co-founder of the platforms Post post and Eternal spring – art and ecology.
Saarlotta Virri, b. 1993, is a documentary filmmaker living and working in Helsinki. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Documentary Film Directing from Aalto University. Her films navigate the space between playfulness and sorrow, often finding surprising ways to deal with collective and private grief as well as the transience of everything. Her works often carry a strong, distinctive atmosphere, born from playful concepts, a focus on sensory detail, and shooting on 16mm film. Before turning to filmmaking, she worked as a journalist. Her films have been shown and awarded at various film festivals, such as Visions du Réel, Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen, Riga IFF, Tampere Film Festival. Together with Kim Ekberg, Hannah Wiker Wikström and Sawandi Groskind she runs POST POST, a production company and a collective which supports and develops film using experimental and artistic methods.
