Thank You La Difesa del popolo and Fabio Velo Dalbrenta

🎶 New York, New York, Moon River, Over the Rainbow. Un soprano lirico, un quartetto d'archi, e un genere che di solito non va insieme alla lirica: il musical. È I hate musicals… but I like to sing them!, il nuovo disco di Maria Cecilia Marinelli, soprano formatasi al conservatorio Pollini di Padova.

Il progetto nasce da una sfida precisa: non rendere i brani del musical "operistici", ma mettere la voce al servizio del repertorio, avvicinandosi il più possibile allo stile originale. «Ho lavorato direttamente sugli spartiti originali, scoprendo che a volte erano ben diversi dalle versioni iconiche, perché ogni interprete ci mette molto di suo. Così ho fatto anch'io».

Registrato nel Teatro Filodrammatici di Cremona — il più antico della città — con il Quartetto Archimia e gli arrangiamenti del maestro argentino H. Raúl Domínguez, il disco offre anche un'esperienza d'ascolto insolita: i formati immersivi che rendono il suono sferico, come essere in una sala da concerto con gli strumenti intorno.

Un progetto che è il primo di una serie — uno "studio album" pensato per chi vuole ancora fermarsi ad ascoltare davvero.
