Lo scorso fine settimana abbiamo portato a termine la nostra residenza artistica presso la comunità del Migliaro, a Cremona. Sono state giornate intense e ricche di lavoro, dedicate allo studio di una delle partiture più importanti e monumentali che Schubert ci ha lasciato: l’Ottetto in Fa Maggiore D. 803.

Dopo aver suonato il concerto di venerdì 11 luglio nella chiesa di Santa Maria Nascente al Migliaro, il giorno successivo abbiamo voluto portare la musica anche presso l’Ospedale di Cremona, eseguendo l’Ottetto in tre reparti: Oncologia, Medicina Interna e Generale, e l’Hospice.

Un sentito grazie a Don Marco Genzini per la preziosa collaborazione e a per il supporto.

This past weekend, we concluded our artistic residency at the Migliaro community in Cremona. It was an intense and fulfilling few days, dedicated to studying one of the most important and monumental works Schubert left us: the Octet in F major, D. 803.

After performing our concert on Friday, July 11th at the Church of Santa Maria Nascente in Migliaro, the following day we brought the Octet to the Hospital in Cremona, playing in three different departments: Oncology, Internal and General Medicine, and the Hospice.

I primi giorni della nostra residenza a Cremona stanno proprio volando. È molto difficile descrivere l’emozione che stiamo provando nel preparare questo programma per il concerto di domani presso la chiesa S. Maria Nascente del Migliaro.

Agon Ensemble torna a Cremona per una residenza artistica con un coinvolgente programma di musica da camera, con opere di Gregorio Allegri, Leó Weiner e Franz Schubert.

Saremo ospiti della comunità Migliaro-Boschetto e, l’11 luglio alle ore 21:00, suoneremo presso la Chiesa di Santa Maria Nascente al Migliaro.

Il giorno seguente, porteremo la musica in diversi reparti dell’Ospedale di Cremona: questi momenti musicali saranno dedicati e riservati esclusivamente ai pazienti.

Un grande grazie alle istituzioni che ci sostengono in questo progetto.

Agon Ensemble returns to Cremona for an artistic residency with an engaging chamber music program featuring works by Gregorio Allegri, Leó Weiner, and Franz Schubert.

We will be guests of the Migliaro-Boschetto community and will perform on July 11th at 9:00 PM at the Church of Santa Maria Nascente in Migliaro.

The following day, we will bring music to various wards of the Cremona Hospital. These musical moments will be dedicated to and reserved exclusively for the hospital’s patients.

A heartfelt thank you to the institutions supporting our project.

We are still very excited from our residency at the STRADIVARIfestival of last week. We are so happy that the audience recieved so well our concert and the music we proposed to the audience of the festival.

We are very looking forward for the 11th edition of the STRADIVARIfestival where Agon Ensemble will performe (for the second time)! On Sunday, October 15th, in the beautiful auditorium G. Arvedi at the Museo del Violino in Cremona.

This time the Ensemble will host Giovanni Gnocchi, one of the finest Italian cellists around!
We are also extremely happy that our Concertmaster will be Gabrielle Sheck, an extraordinary violin player, member of Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Orchestra Mozart, plus an amazing human being.

The title of the concert is:
”Violoncello Raro” and we will start with Carl Philip Emanuel Bach concerto for cello and string orchestra in A Major Wq 172. Then continue with an hidden gem by Mieczysław Weinberg Concertino for cello and string orchestra Op. 43 bis and we’ll finish the concert with a Johannes Brahms masterpiece, the G major quintet op. 111 (string orchestra version).

We are extremely excited that on Saturday 8th of October, Agon Ensemble will play on the opening concert at the 10th edition of the Stradivari Festival in the beautiful auditorium G.Arvedi at the Violin Museum in Cremona.

The concert will feature the Quarta brothers
Alessandro and Massimo, some of the most talented violinists in the Italian and international scene.
Together with them, Agon, will participate as a string orchestra.
The programme is exciting; alongside the Bach
Concerto for two violins in D minor, there will be three world premieres by Silvia Colasanti, Simonide Braconi and Alessandro Quarta.
