In 1985, Antonio Ratti created the non-profit foundation that bears his name in Como with the desire to share his passion for art and textiles and to preserve his textile collection. Over the past 30 years, FAR has continued to support and promote research and experimentation in culture and the arts, including scholars, and the established and emerging artists in a lively and open environment.

On Tuesday, July 14th, Gregg Bordowitz, visiting artist of the ### CSAV - Artists’ Research Laboratory, presented his performance “Where Feelings Arise: A Talk” at Teatro Sociale in Como, where he showed examples of visual art, played music, read poetry and discussed ideas related to process philosophy.

On Tuesday, July 14th, Michael Newman held the talk “…a constellation, perhaps…”: indecision and contingency in the poetics of art after Mallarmé at Fondazione Antonio Ratti. In the talk, he explored the theme of poetics and art after Mallarmé, expanding on the subject of the three-part exhibition he curated at Large Glass in 2024.

“…a constellation, perhaps…”: indecision and contingency in the poetics of art after Mallarmé
A talk by Michael Newman | Un talk di Michael Newman

In his talk, Michael Newman will explore the theme of poetics and art after Mallarmé, expanding on the subject of the three-part exhibition he curated at Large Glass in 2024. The lecture will examine how Mallarmé’s radical transformation of poetics has been taken up and reinterpreted by artists to the present day, tracing a lineage that continues to shape contemporary artistic practice. Newman will also reflect on the notion of a poetics of curating.
The event will be held in English.

Nel suo intervento, Michael Newman esplorerà il tema della poetica e dell’arte dopo Mallarmé, approfondendo la mostra in tre parti che ha curato a Large Glass nel 2024. La conferenza esaminerà come la radicale trasformazione della poetica operata da Mallarmé
sia stata raccolta e reinterpretata dagli artisti fino ai giorni nostri, tracciando una genealogia che continua a plasmare la pratica artistica contemporanea. Newman rifletterà inoltre sulla nozione di poetica della cura.
L’evento si terrà in lingua inglese.
