È Antonio Ratti a creare a Como nel 1985 la fondazione no profit che porta il suo nome, con il desiderio di condividere la passione per l’arte e il tessuto e di preservare la sua collezione tessile. Ad oggi, la Fondazione Antonio Ratti continua a promuovere la ricerca e la sperimentazione in ambito artistico e culturale, coinvolgendo studiosi, artisti affermati ed emergenti in un ambiente vivo e aperto. In 1985, Antonio Ratti created the non-profit foundation that bears his name in Como with the desire to share his passion for art and textiles and to preserve his textile collection. Over the past 30 years, FAR has continued to support and promote research and experimentation in culture and the arts, including scholars, and the established and emerging artists in a lively and open environment.

Alcune immagini della mostra Copricapi e rompicapi, realizzata in occasione della Lake Como Creativity Week. Incentrata sui riti e sul loro aspetto performativo, la mostra crea un dialogo tra le opere di Joan Jonas, ospite del XIII CSAV - Artists’ Research Laboratory, una selezione di copricapi provenienti da tutto il mondo e una composizione dei pannelli di corteccia dipinti dal Congo. Completa la mostra una selezione di volumi dal fondo Seth Siegelaub.

La mostra rimarrà aperta fino al 23 ottobre.
Dal lunedì al venerdì, h. 9:30 - 17:30.

Some images from the exhibition Copricapi e rompicapi, realised in occasion of the Lake Como Creativity Week. Focused on rituals and their performative aspects, the exhibitions creates a dialogue between the works of Joan Jonas, guest of the XIII CSAV - Artists’ Research Laboratory, a selection of headwear from around the world and a composition of painted bark panels from Congo. The exhibition is completed by a selection of by volumes from the Seth Siegelaub archive.

The exhibition will be open until October 23.
From Monday to Friday, h. 9:30 - 17:30.

La Fondazione Antonio Ratti è felice di invitarvi all’opening della mostra Geometrie come mito che raccoglie reperti della collezione tessile della FAR con una selezione di tessuti archeologici e tessuti d’autore del XX secolo, in dialogo con i lavori di artisti: Carla Accardi, Carla Badiali, Alighiero Boetti, Lucinda Childs e Babette Mongolte, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker e Thierry De Mey, Matt Mullican.

On Tuesday, July 14th, Gregg Bordowitz, visiting artist of the ### CSAV - Artists’ Research Laboratory, presented his performance “Where Feelings Arise: A Talk” at Teatro Sociale in Como, where he showed examples of visual art, played music, read poetry and discussed ideas related to process philosophy.

On Tuesday, July 14th, Michael Newman held the talk “…a constellation, perhaps…”: indecision and contingency in the poetics of art after Mallarmé at Fondazione Antonio Ratti. In the talk, he explored the theme of poetics and art after Mallarmé, expanding on the subject of the three-part exhibition he curated at Large Glass in 2024.

Martedì 14 luglio, Michael Newman ha tenuto il talk “…a constellation, perhaps…”: indecision and contingency in the poetics of art after Mallarmé presso Fondazione Antonio Ratti.
