Mono Lithe is a collective of artists based in CIampino (Rome). It merges musical, visual and literary arts, the leitmotif is experimentation and the constant search for unique and original blends. The collective organizes events and artistic productions that revolve around the concept of diversity of languages, uniqueness of expressions and complementarity of the arts. Mono Lithe has been active
since 2017; over the years it has produced the work of several local artists, curated exhibitions, created a cultural and artistic movement around the concept of experimentation and harmony between different languages. Mono Lithe is born from “Prafoz”, a -call for artists- organized in CIampino for the first time in May 2017. “Prafoz” is a recreational and social movement with live music, live painting and art exhibitions, which fosters a connection between local artists. The event was then repeated several times over the years, with increasing participation and also allowing the involvement of international artists, from CIampino to Toronto, passing through Berlin and Barcelona. Among the major activities promoted by the collective, record productions and distributions in the field of experimental music should be mentioned. Mono Lithe has always been committed to promoting local artists, assisting them in the recording, production and distribution of their musical and non-musical works. Within these productions we mention "Lithe.textures", an open source collection of sound design works and ambient productions signed by 9 artists; or “VITREO” (by Cyma and The Third Orange), a work of sound art in which each sound is composed and obtained exclusively from 100% glass materials. Mono Lithe has also produced audiovisual projects, in collaboration with other artistic collectives such as L4R, Fujakkà, Kosmica... For example, the videoclips of: "GlasWerk 1" and "Salve Regina"; "Is this life set?" live streaming focused on the theme of environmental awareness (during the first lockdown); and "Solo l’amare, solo il conoscere conta", a tribute-tribute to Pier Paolo Pasolini. Among the events and exhibitions organized by Mono Lithe we include (in addition to “Prafoz”, three editions of which have been made) “Bergen-Al”, “Abgrund”, “A-Live Set” in Ciampino; “Languages”, “Electrodo”, in Rome; “Photosynthesis”, at Lake Nemi. The events have always followed a logic of inclusive participation, taking into account the spaces available: the shape of the performance always follows the conformation of the space in which it is located.
