Opera al Mare is an intensive summer operatic training program for young artists. (A Project of BARN OPERA)

Held in the Cesenatico, Italy, the program is designed to focus on Italian language/culture and perform full roles in Italian opera.

🌟 OPERAALMARE 2026 – Cesenatico 🌟

The OPERAALMARE Opera Studio returns to Cesenatico this year: an international training program where young singers refine their technique, interpretation, and stage presence through direct, hands-on work on the stage.

For the 2026 edition, we have selected a new cohort of international talents. They are voices still in training, but already mature in musicality and passion: tenors, sopranos, mezzo-sopranos, and baritones who this year will work on Italian operatic repertoire, ensemble pieces, and study roles.

The program will culminate in public performances at the Teatro di Cesenatico, where the students will perform both principal and cover roles in works from the bel canto repertoire, alongside concerts featuring scenes and arias from the Italian and international opera repertoire. This is where classroom work becomes real experience, in front of a live audience.

We are pleased to introduce you to the protagonists of this edition. In the coming days, we’ll share their stories and the roles they will take on stage.

We are proud to introduce Ruicheng Yin, our Belcore in Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’amore.

A rising talent in his first year with the OPERAALMARE Opera Studio, Ruicheng stands out for his warm voice, natural stage presence, and strong musicianship. We’ll have the chance to hear him this June at the Teatro di Cesenatico.

Introducing our Nemorino, William Tanski, in his first year with the Operastudio at OPERAALMARE.

A journey of growth, study, and passion that continues to bring her ever closer to the public.

From June 15 to July 5, 2026, the Teatro Comunale of Cesenatico (FC) becomes the summer home of opera thanks to the new edition of the Operastudio “Opera al Mare”, a project created by Opera Vermont that brings together training, production, and an immersive artistic experience on the Adriatic coast of Romagna.

This year, the study program will culminate in fully staged productions of two beloved titles:

EDIT: We have heard the concern about the photo that was originally shared with our faculty member and a notable person in the industry that is a known abuser of artists. We initially wanted to highlight the honor of this faculty member's association with the Puccini festival at Torre del Lago, and unwittingly created a connection - where there isn't one - between that individual and our program. We are sorry for the pain and hurt that might have caused, and we continue to welcome conversation in service to protecting and supporting artists. Thank you all for your comments, and we hope that this clarifies our position on that individual and our work in the operatic sphere to protect, elevate, encourage, develop, mentor and love young artists, as they take over this industry, and hopefully make it better than what they found!
