De Rosa, G. aA29 Project Room prende il nome dal piccolo asteroide 2002 AA29 co-orbitante con la Terra che si pensa possa essersi formato dallo scontro tra la Terra e Theia, pianeta che, secondo la teoria dell’impatto gigante, avrebbe colliso con la Terra, dando origine poi alla Luna. Anche aA29 nasce dallo scontro-incontro con diverse entità del mondo dell’arte contemporanea dalla quale attinge,
pur seguendo la propria orbita e osservando la realtà da angolazioni nuove e diverse. Si articola in due gallerie a Milano e Caserta: spazi multifunzionali, creati per promuovere con mostre, progetti site-specific e residenze, diverse forme di sperimentazione. Nasce con un indirizzo socio-politico, per estendere il suo raggio d’azione a un terreno di ricerca più ampio, che esplora differenti possibilità di dialogo e di interazione con l’altro, con l’intento di decostruire alcuni fondamenti del pensiero dominante. aA29 Project Room sostiene ricerche sensibili alla questione ecologica e ambientale, che generano nuove possibilità di incontro e connessione tra i viventi. Gli artisti con cui collabora indagano delle condizioni liminari e dicotomiche tra l’essere umano e l’animale, il naturale e l’artificiale, il sacro e il profano, l’abitato e l’inabitato e sviluppano dei progetti nei quali, con azioni partecipative, viene coinvolto il pubblico, per l’affermazione di una coscienza collettiva che immagina degli scenari alternativi per il futuro.

aA29 Project Room takes its name from the small asteroid 2002 AA29 co-orbiting with the Earth that is thought to have formed from the collision between Earth and Theia, a planet that, according to the giant impact theory, would have collided with the Earth, later giving rise to the Moon. Also aA29 was born from the clash-meeting with different entities of the contemporary art world from which it inspired, while following its own orbit, and observing the reality from new and different viewpoints. aA29 Project Room, founded by Gerardo Giurin and Antonio Cecora, is organised in two galleries in Milan and Caserta, directed by Lara Gaeta: multifunctional spaces, created to promote different forms of experimentation through exhibitions, site-specific projects and residencies. The Project Room addresses socio-political issues, extending its aim to a broader field of research, exploring different possibilities for dialogue and interaction with the other, with the intention of deconstructing some of the foundations of the dominant thought. aA29 Project Room supports research which is sensitive to ecological and environmental issues, and generates new possibilities of encounter and connection between living beings. The artists with whom it collaborates, investigate the liminal and dichotomous conditions between human beings and the animal world, between the natural and unnatural, the sacred and the profane, the inhabited and the uninhabited, developing projects in which the public contributes, through participatory actions, towards the affirmation of a collective consciousness that imagines alternative scenarios for the future.
