Altay - Seafarers is the first expansion for Altay - Dawn of Civilization, opening the gates to the seas and the mysteries of the ancient Waterfolk. Long forgotten by history, these enigmatic people could command the waves with their songs and bend the ocean to their will.

This expansion introduces three major additions. First, a brand-new game board, the Forgotten Sea, where players can establish harbors and expand their civilizations through maritime routes. Second, new rules for shipbuilding, sailing, and naval combat, supported by fresh action cards and technologies such as Shipwrights, Explorers, and Astronomy. Ships allow players to cross sea zones, settle distant lands, and engage in battles across the waves, with unique advantages and tactical depth.

Finally, Altay - Seafarers adds a completely new playable faction: the Waterfolk. Through the magic of their wise ones, tied to wavebending and song, they can travel the seas without ships. With their cards, they offer an entirely different playstyle, combining flexibility, resource control, and manipulation of discarded actions.

Whether you choose to master the sea with ships or harness the ocean’s power with the Waterfolk, Altay - Seafarers expands the world of Altay - Dawn of Civilization with new strategies, challenges, and the thrill of exploration.

Once again, we’re coming back to the office and our regularly scheduled activities as satisfied as ever. UK Games Expo is truly becoming a force to be reckoned with - this year it registered a record-breaking attendance of 87.000+ visitors over the three days of the show! And we really did feel the scope of this event. We did not have a single idle moment.

This year we had a plethora of recent releases to demo, with games such as the satisfying TEDOKU, the chaotic Perfect Mismatch, the eye-catching Viking Route, the compelling WunderWaffen and the mysterious Altay – Seafarers. We also had a few sneak peeks for upcoming games, most notably Quartermaster General: West Front, by Ian Brody, who was at our stand on Friday and Saturday to guide players through all the games in the line; the two new expansions for the War of the Ring, Sieges of Middle-earth for the board game and Hope and Despair for the card game (also by Ian Brody); and lastly, the long-in-the-making City of Chaos, a refreshing new take on a classic from the ‘90s. Last but not least, on Sunday we hosted the 5th edition of our annual Wings of Glory event, the Battle of Birmingham.

As always, none of this could have been managed without our team of returning demonstrators who flawlessly juggled the many players and games we had on show. A huge thank you! And thank you to everyone who came to visit our stand. We hope that all of you were able to find what you were looking for or discovered something new and unexpected. The Hunt is an asymmetric historical strategy game set in Europe, May 1945. As the Third Reich collapses, former regime members scatter across the globe, trying to escape justice.

In this tense 2–4 player experience, you command one of four rival factions—the United States, the Soviet Union, the Tzaar, or the Network—each with unique ambitions and abilities, racing to track down and capture fugitives before your opponents do.

Across multiple rounds, deploy your agents to investigation zones, gather and manage Clue cards with an innovative deck-building system, and conduct targeted hunts in America, Europe, or the Middle East. Use collected clues wisely to capture fugitives and earn Influence in military, scientific, political, or collaborationist fields. Strategic planning, timing, and exploiting faction-specific powers are key to outmaneuvering rivals and gaining the upper hand. The game concludes when a player reaches 12 World Domination points.

With 60–90 minutes of gameplay, medium complexity, and strong historical immersion, The Hunt offers tense decision-making, deep strategy, and high replayability, making it a perfect choice for fans of asymmetrical and competitive strategy games.

Two new games published by Nuts! Publishing has started to hit North American game stores: Guerre Éclair, a fast-paced, card-driven wargame for two players that recreates the dramatic Fall of France in May 1940, and SPELL, a tactical dueling game where one or two players enters a magical arena as rival mages. The new games are also arriving in retail in other regions, distributed by Ares Games and through Nuts! Publishing.

Guerre Éclair, designed by Yasushi Nakaguro (300: Earth and Water, Port Arthur), is an accessible WWII wargame with strong historical appeal and a short playing time. It simulates the German Blitzkrieg during the Battle of France in 1940; as German forces launch their invasion of the Netherlands, Belgium, and France following the Manstein Plan, the fate of Western Europe hangs in the balance.Guerre Éclair delivers a deeply strategic experience that still manages to appeal to both seasoned wargamers and newcomers.

SPELL is a game for one or two players, set during the legendary Tournament of Äphalest, where the most powerful witches and sorcerers compete for control of the Gem of Vrinolur, an artifact forged to command the forces of darkness. Players enter a magical arena as rival mages, using activated tiles to recreate rune shapes and cast powerful spells. UK GAMES EXPO 2026 begins today, May 28th, and we'll be waiting for you at stand 3A-402, with the pre-release of VIKING ROUTE, a co-op game with a compass, magnets, and lots of action, the newly released ALTAY – SEAFARERS - the first expansion for ALTAY – DAWN OF CIVILIZATION - and previews of three titles coming in the second half of the year: QUARTERMASTER GENERAL: WEST FRONT - the third entry in Quartermaster General’s two-player line - and two expansions in the War of the Ring game line - SIEGES OF MIDDLE-EARTH, the 4th expansion of the WAR OF THE RING BOARD GAME, and HOPE AND DESPAIR, the 3rd expansion of WAR OF THE RING: THE CARD GAME.

At our stand, you will also find recent releases and games available at UKGE for the first time: the roll-and-write game TEDOKU, WUNDERWAFFEN a strategy game portraying the last months of World War 2, the word-guessing party game PERFECT MISMATCH, and QUARTERMASTER GENERAL: SOUTH FRONT.

On Friday and Saturday, meet the game designer IAN BRODY and play Quartermaster General and War of the Ring: The Card Game with him at our stand. Don’t miss the 5TH BATTLE OF BIRMINGHAM, a large-scale participation event for the WW1 WINGS OF GLORY, our WW1 airplane miniature game using beautiful pre-painted models!

Wings of Glory is a fast-playing and easy to learn game system that uses cards and miniatures to represent airplanes and their manoeuvres, allowing the players to fly with the main airplanes of WW1 and the most famous aces of the aviation, like Manfred von Richthofen, Frank Luke Jr., Max Immelmann, and William Barker. Control one or more airplanes, engage your opponents in aerial duels, or try to accomplish a specific mission, such as recon, es**rt, or bombing.
New players will be welcome to the 5th Battle of Birmingham at our stand, on Sunday at 11:00. Our demo crew will help everyone enter the battle within minutes, and an airplane miniature will be provided to the participants to play with.

Come to our stand for a first look at WAR OF THE RING: SIEGES OF MIDDLE-EARTH, a new expansion for the War of the Ring™ Second Edition boardgame, focusing on the siege battles against the main strongholds of the Free Peoples.
New game mechanics bring those desperate battles to the forefront of the conflict: the Shadow player can field powerful Siege Engines to smash fortifications and spread despair among the defenders, while the Free Peoples player may attempt heroic feats, lead bold sorties, and inspire last stands that can turn the tide of battle.
Coming in the second half of 2026, this expansion will be showcased at UK Games Expo for the first time.

Come to our stand for a preview of QUARTERMASTER GENERAL: WEST FRONT, the third title in the Quartermaster General "Front" series - a fast-paced, two-player strategy game. WEST FRONT is played over 23 seasonal game rounds, from Fall 1939 through Spring 1945, with one player controlling the Allies’ forces - United Kingdom, United States, and France – and the other playing the Axis - Germany, Italy, and other associated countries (the “Pact,” so called after the Tripartite Pact). Each player commands a unique deck of cards, representing their side’s equipment, manpower, and strategies.

Come to our booth and play WUNDERWAFFEN, an asymmetric strategy game portraying the last year of World War II, when the Normandy landings paved the way to the occupation of Berlin and the resulting defeat of the German army.
The N**i army is near collapse, but inside its laboratories scientists and technicians are designing new and terrible weapons, the so-called WunderWaffen, in the hope of turning the tides of a hopeless situation. The Allies players will have to carefully balance the urgency to rapidly advance toward Berlin with the need to limit the Germans’ scientific research, while trying to help one another. Through simple rules the game recreates the troubled collaboration between the Russian, British, and American Allies in the final phase of the war.
