Revealed at in Basel today! As part of Basel Exclusive, we are pleased to present Struttura 795 by Enzo Mari, unveiled today during the opening of the fair.

“I am aware of the mysterious processes of intuition. Decantation starts after a pause and it proceeds through continuous negation […] the project, like every other intellectual activity in history, can only come about by negation. I negate everything that seems to be but is not. I could continue to do so endlessly, but a project must have an outcome. At that point, what remains is a project to be developed, even if new horizons with questions and hypotheses have opened up”. Having defined what all projects have in common, i.e. the method that turns into methodology, Mari's top priority is to design the transformation tools and instruments conducive to the progress of society.

Discover the work at our booth S5, together with a selection of works by Sheila Hicks, David Maljković, Carla Accardi, Haris Epaminonda, Ettore Spalletti, Francesca Woodman, Jacopo Benassi, Landon Metz, Paul P., Formafantasma

During the afternoon, direct sunlight enters through the southern window at a higher angle than in previous months. The beam reaches the canvas earlier in the day, forming a pale vertical field that slowly expands across the centre before dissolving toward the edges. The effect persists for approximately fourteen minutes.

From today June 11, 2026, Nedko Solakov is part of the group exhibition "South by Southeast" at the EΜΣΤ National Museum of Contemporary Art in Athens, curated by Katerina Gregos.

The exhibition marks a turning point for EMΣT, redefining its collection beyond Eurocentric canons to reposition Greece as a central hub between the Balkans, Turkey, the Middle East, and North Africa. Through the works of 50 artists, Greece re-embraces its deep, historical ties with the Levant and the Mediterranean.

By highlighting shared histories of migration, shifting borders, and cultural exchange, the exhibition offers a counter-narrative to isolationist nationalism and Western exceptionalism, a task that is particularly urgent today as Greece finds itself on the front lines of migration crises.

Sheila Hicks is part of "Material Matters Rivers Near and Far" at West Bund Museum - Shanghai, curated by Clément Dirié and Liu Xiao.

Both artists push the traditions of art making through experimentation using humble materials in innovative modes: Sheila Hicks intertwines threads, colors, and histories, and engages with softness and monumentality and Shi Hui gives to paper pulp. The exhibition invites to reconsider art history through material - reconciling the eye, the hand, and the intellect, and embracing tactility and contemplation - and it underlines the importance of processes and know-how.

On view until 02.08.2026

✨We’re thrilled to announce our participation at Basel Exclusive: a new initiative at ’s flagship show with Enzo Mari.

Born on April 27th, 1932, Enzo Mari attended the Brera academy in Milan and, at a very young age, worked in the field of Programmed Art to devote himself, from 1956 onwards, to industrial design, also experimenting with new materials. In art he has promoted the international movement New Trends.
In the sixties he revolutionized the concept of design through objects useful for the so-called common people, until now excluded from a sector considered elitist. Thus were born creations that do not feel the wear and tear of time, free from fashions, whose meaning lies not only in the constant and long research work, but in the quality of the forms. His objects often arise from an intuition, e.g. Putrella, 1958, with its elementariness as well as extremely dense potential for internal cross-references and evocative strength. Mari has always looked at the needs of the human being outside the constraints of the market. He has articulated in his work the inventions of an artist and those of a designer and theorist, author of fifteen didactic and political books. He was awarded with the Compasso d’Oro, the oldest and most prestigious industrial design award in the world, five times: the first in 1967 for individual design researches, the last in 2011 for his career.

✨We invite you to discover an exceptional artwork, only to be unveiled in person at the fair.
