Oops, I suck at my job, I forgot to share anything! Today started with 2 incredible sunrise time-lapses. Then we drove over Gardena Pass and all of its countless hairpin switchbacks. We reached our next home base early in the afternoon and enjoyed all of what this town has to offer. Since I didn't get anything ready today, here are a few from the first leg of our trip. The smaller church is the church of St. John and the bigger church is the church of St. Magdalena.

Yesterday was supposed to be the worst weather, so we had planned to rest. We woke to be completely engulfed in clouds and fog, which seemed to confirm that we made the right choice. However, we called an audible and decided to make a third attempt anyway. It's a 6 mile hike around Tre Cime and we started off with very low expectations. The first 3 miles were spent walking through snow, slush, and little rivers of melting snow. Then the rains came in, but we were committed to at least state that we completed the full hike around Tre Cime. At the literal lowest point, and furthest from the parking lot, the skies inexplicably started to clear. The last 3 miles out was indescribable!

Finally made it to the Cadini Di Misurini hike on our second attempt. We were at the parking lot just after 7am and knew that we had a short window before the clouds came in. We got there with nobody behind us, and there were 2 other groups in front of us. We rested above to give them time, and then dropped onto the famous narrow landing strip walkway up to the lookout. We had about 15 minutes up there all to ourselves as the clouds started swallowing the impressive peaks. By the time the next group arrived....the mountains were gone. We definitely had some devine assistance with the clouds and the crowds today!

We woke up to the most amazing sunrise from our front porch today. The apparent theme so far is to fail miserably on the first day and then to get lucky on the second attempt. We lost our trail today and spent most of our time trying to back-track to get the money shot and failed miserably. So enjoy these, but hopefully tomorrow I won't get us lost

Let the new begin BTS. "Let the new begin" is the title of an Autumn highlight film I'm working on. There are a few sections in the video where I wanted to show single leaves up close. I built this mini set as a way to give the appearance that the leaves are floating in space. In all, I photographed 68 separate leaves.

BTS.....lately I've been compiling a whole bunch of timelapse footage as well as video clips for an "Autumn in Cache Valley" highlight film. This is a behind the scenes picture of this morning's sunrise which was extremely vibrant and saturated, but short lived! So glad I got time lapse footage!
