Discover the Antonio Dalle Nogare Collection ✨

“Subway Drawings” by William Anastasi began in the late 1960s, following earlier experiments such as blind drawings—made blindfolded while listening to classical music—and pocket drawings, created while walking and letting a folded sheet of paper capture spontaneous traces.

These works are produced while travelling on the underground: an album resting on the lap, pencils in both hands, and the movement of the train guiding a continuous “seismographic” line across the page.

Often made with eyes closed and sometimes accompanied by music through headphones, they transform the act of commuting into a creative process unfolding in real time.

Across this body of work, chance, perception, space, and time become central themes. What emerges is a daily practice—almost a wandering meditation—that reflects the philosophical and spiritual inquiries of the period, from phenomenology of perception to transcendental meditation.

EVENT: 28.7.2026 at 6:30 PM

We're pleased to collaborate again with Bolzano Danza by hosting a new performance by the art collective Industria Indipendente: a site-specific project created in collaboration with Annamaria Ajmone, with whom they have been working since 2019.

A visionary journey through words, the body, and the imagination: a performance that weaves together dance, sound, and writing to rewrite myths and open up new possibilities of meaning.

At the center, a guiding figure: a Don Quixote of the future who does not fight but imagines, transforming reality. The work stems from a shared writing practice that begins with a reading of Miguel de Cervantes’ novel and its rewritings, particularly those by female authors who have expanded its meaning. From Kathy Acker to Monique Wittig, a constellation of references emerges that fuels an open structure, composed of episodes, images, and actions. The performance unfolds as an evolving narrative, without beginning or end, where different languages intertwine.

Preceding and following the performance is the screening of the video Dammi i brividi ma non per la paura (2025), featuring the voice of Silvia Calderoni, the first chapter of a broader exploration of the character of Don Quixote. A work that unites writing and vision in a suspended atmosphere, between transformation and imagination.

🎫 Admission: Tickets are available online or at the ticket office of Teatro Comunale in Bolzano.

A place where context is not a backdrop, but a living component of the work 💚

In the building that hosts the Foundation, art and architecture come together to shape a truly immersive and evocative experience.

Its unique geographical setting, surrounded by a rich natural landscape, merges with carefully selected materials and site-specific interventions by international artists—transforming the space itself into an integral part of the artistic experience.

For all artists born or living in South Tyrol

The Südtiroler Künstlerbund (SKB), in collaboration with the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation, invites artists to take part in an open call dedicated to innovative and multidisciplinary performance projects.

The project aims to highlight diverse, bold and radical performance practices capable of exploring the relationship between the body, space and contemporary social issues through immediate action – whether physical or mental – that opens up new perspectives and transforms the museum spaces into a place of artistic presence and active interaction.

The collaboration between SKB and the Foundation stems from a shared desire to give greater visibility to performance art in South Tyrol, creating an open space where the public and artists will be involved in direct and intense artistic situations, capable of opening up new perspectives on art.

Born from Antonio Dalle Nogare’s passion for contemporary art and reading, the Foundation’s library is an ever-growing resource dedicated to research, discovery, and dialogue 📚✨

It offers a rich collection of monographs, exhibition catalogues, magazines, artists’ books, and special editions—ranging from key figures in the collection to the most significant artistic movements from the mid-20th century onwards.

More than a library, it is a living space for study and inspiration, actively supporting the Foundation’s exhibition programme and opening new perspectives on contemporary art.

Curator presents "Wind Speed 40 Knots" by the eclectic artist Laura Grisi, as part of the third installment of It Takes Two: Video Works from the Antonio Dalle Nogare Collection, curated by .brioschi ✨

The video, filmed in 1968, originally in 16 mm, is one of the first and most radical attempts to represent the meeting point between human beings and the agents of nature through moving images, unpredictable, insatiable, and unrepresentable.

At the Foundation, art is not something to simply observe—it is something to experience ✨

For founder Antonio Dalle Nogare, collecting has never been about possession, but about creating a space where art becomes a living process—one that engages viewers as active participants rather than passive spectators.

Deeply influenced by Franz Erhard Walther, this vision redefines the artwork as something that unfolds through action, interaction, and shared experience. Art is no longer a static object, but a dynamic encounter—social, democratic, and alive.
