A legendary figure of contemporary dance, Louise Lecavalier spent decades redefining what a body can do on stage. She has performed alongside artists such as David Bowie and Frank Zappa, inspired generations of dancers, and remains one of the most compelling performers of her time.

In danses vagabondes, movement becomes a journey through memory, time and transformation. Inspired by the writings of physicist Carlo Rovelli, the work unfolds as a powerful solo that is both deeply personal and astonishingly physical.

At 66 years old, Lecavalier still performs with a force and intensity that leaves audiences spellbound.

Every horizon asks the same question: what lies beyond?
Bolzano Danza 2026 begins there.

A medieval castle. Two performances. One unforgettable opening night together with Centro Coreografico Nazionale / Aterballetto.
On 16 July, Bolzano Danza begins at Schloss Maretsch - Castel Mareccio.

MicroDanze opens the festival with three short works by Antonella Bertoni, Francesca Lattuada and resident choreographer Diego Tortelli, whose new creation Soft P receives its world première in Bolzano.

Later Monteverdi’s Il combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda takes over the castle with a live performance staged by Fabio Cherstich and Philippe Kratz, accompanied on stage by a countertenor and four musicians from the Fondazione Haydn Stiftung orchestra.
