After ten unforgettable days of performances, we’ve reached the close of this special 25th anniversary edition of Transart Festival — and what a ride it’s been!
From theatres and museums to a mountain plateau and our iconic industrial spaces, we’ve explored the contemporary with extraordinary artists. None of this would have been possible without the performers, partners, our dedicated team, and all the passionate people behind the festival.
And of course — thank you.
Thank you for joining us on this journey through contemporary culture in all its forms, and for making this anniversary edition truly one to remember.

For two days, the project Book a Scientist — a collaboration between Transart and Eurac Research — brought research out of the laboratory and into everyday life instead. In private houses all over the province of Bolzano-Bozen, more than 200 participants met through prompts, games, and questions, following a format conceived by Swiss artists Caroline Barneaud and Stefan Kaegi (Rimini Protokoll) to spark dialogue around the urgencies of our present.

A Musikkapelle, performers, cars and a stadium filled with people.

On September 19, Florentina Holzinger’s Stadion Étude brought alpine traditions into unexpected territory, transforming Bolzano’s Europa Stadion into a new ritual between the old and the future. Conceived as a satellite extension of SEAWORLD VENICE, Florentina Holzinger’s Austria at the Venice Biennale contribution at the 2025 Venice Biennale, the performance carried her work into a new landscape, where local traditions, music and contemporary performance came together.

On 17–18 September, the project Book a Scientist — a collaboration between Festival Transart and Eurac Research Center for Advanced Studies — brought research out of the laboratory and into everyday life instead, in private homes across South Tyrol.

Simultaneously, in private houses all over the province of Bolzano-Bozen, participants met through prompts, games, and questions, following a format conceived by Swiss artists Caroline Barneaud and Stefan Kaegi (Rimini Protokoll) to spark dialogue around the urgencies of our present.

太鼓 – TAIKO The Soul of Japanese Drumming by Masa Daiko

Masa-Daiko’s TAIKO – The Soul of Japanese Drumming evokes the archaic power of Japanese Taiko through thunderous drums, precise movement and unexpected rhythmic breaks, merging sound and body into a deeply sensory experience. The trio OUU!D moves in a completely different direction, combining jazz, European free improvisation, modular electronics and hip-hop sampling into complex, irregular grooves that leave traditional notions of melody and harmony behind.

Two distinct sound worlds, united by rhythm.
From the ancestral force of the Taiko to the strange, mechanical pulse of contemporary experimentation.

The Europa Stadion of Bolzano-Bozen was the setting of yesterday’s latest satellite expansion of Florentina Holzinger’s Austria at the Venice Biennale contribution SEAWORLD VENICE.

As part of the Transart program, Holzinger’s new Étude brings together a hot air balloon, bells, a Musikkapelle and performers, creating an echo between the old and the new. Rooted in regional Volksmusik and alpine motifs, the performance transforms timeless traditions into an apocalyptic rebirth, where new myths emerge from the ashes of the old.
