📢 We’re happy to announce the release of the MuST GEn project handbook, an educational pathway designed to raise awareness and challenge gender stereotypes through the power of art. This handbook is dedicated to youth workers, educators, and facilitators busy in fostering a deeper understanding of gender equality among young people.

🌈 Impact:
The MuST GEn Handbook reflects the pressing need to address gender biases and promote inclusivity, especially in regions like Italy and Greece, where social barriers and troubling gender perceptions still persist. Through this handbook, we aim to empower youth to explore and questioning the social constructs around them, equipping them to be advocates for gender equality and inclusivity.

🎯 Key Highlights:
• Innovative approach that uses public art to discuss and break down gender stereotypes.
• Step-by-step activities to engage youth in understanding gender dynamics and promoting equality using body movement and art.
• Tools and suggestions to create engaging learning spaces that challenge gender biases.

『 We feel empowered as we challenge norms, support youth, and drive social change toward a truly inclusive society. Real change starts with awareness and action! 』

💕 The first two magnificent, full days of the workshop have ended, and now we are moving outdoors to prepare for tomorrow's performance.

We explore the sensations that the statues transmit to us with our bodies. We have made them our own and interpreted them using the lens of gender equality to challenge the stereotypes that are assigned to us.
The workshops are conducted by amazing Stella Nasiakou.

IT: I primi due magnifici, pieni, giorni del workshop di workshop sono finiti e ora ci sportiamo all’aria aperta per prepararci alla performance di domani

🟣"Every settlement is an inscription within the space of social relations within the society that built it... Our cities are the inscription in stone, bricks, glass, and cement of patriarchy." - Leslie Kern

👉In the Must Gen project, we delve into the intricate layers of our urban landscapes, uncovering the hidden narratives and power dynamics embedded within. Leslie Kern's thought-provoking quote reminds us that our cities are more than just physical structures—they reflect the societal norms and values that have shaped them.

As we navigate through the streets and squares of our cities, we are confronted with statues and monuments that tell stories of triumph, conquest, and cultural identity. But what about the stories that remain untold? What about the voices that have been marginalized and silenced?

🌿✨ Explore history and gender equality with Must Gen! 🎨💬

Today, let's shine a light on Bologna's Lavandaia Statue, a powerful reminder of the historical presence of washerwomen along the Reno canal. These women diligently laundered the garments of affluent Bolognese families in this very spot.

In the Must Gen project, we're reflecting on the meanings behind the statues in our cities. Take, for example, the Lavandaia Statue. It portrays working women who were exposed to cold, fatigue, and illness. But is this portrayal the most accurate or just way to honor their memory?

Join us in this important discussion as we explore the representation of working women in public art and consider whether it truly reflects their experiences. Through thoughtful dialogue and reflection, we can better understand how to honor and commemorate the contributions of women throughout history. Let's work together towards a more inclusive and equitable future. 🌺🏞️

🎨🏛 Discover the Monument to the Partisan and the Partisan Woman in Piazza di Porta Lame, Bologna! 🏛🎨

Have you ever explored the rich history and artistry of Bologna? One of the city's remarkable treasures is the Monument to the Partisan and the Partisan Woman, crafted by the renowned sculptor Luciano Minguzzi.

Standing proudly in Piazza di Porta Lame, this striking monument pays tribute to the brave men and women who fought against oppression during World War II. What makes it truly special is its depiction of both male and female partisans, symbolizing the unity and strength of their resistance movement.

📙"Is there an alternative between passively accepting or permanently destroying statues that, in public spaces, make visible a pantheon of heroes and examples? Are there 'right' statues? And which ones?
🗽Elevating a figure on a pedestal in the square – the center of the polis and therefore a quintessential political space – signifies presenting them as a model of civic virtues. It is the equivalent of sanctification: 'look at him, take him as an example, act like him.'
Of course, this message comes across when there is still a living connection between the figure and the community that celebrates them, for better or worse. It is not a discourse about the past but a contention about the present and a confrontation of projects for the future. If oppressed masses across the West turn against statues and monuments, it is because they are still humiliated and defeated. Their struggle is not about history but about the future. And it is sacred."
