FRESIA is an art gallery in Bellagio, Italy, that features Lake Como paintings by AIS Master Artist This thought is central to all our projects.

FRESIA is run by husband-wife team, Jerry Fresia and Conchitina Miguel, whose goal is to encourage the enjoyment of art and to promote the spontaneity and visual pleasure of seeing the world around us in a sensual and enchanting way. Our hope is that we can bring both romance and the radical challenge of Impressionism circa 1880 Paris into our contemporary setting. We teach, exhibit, and share wit

h others the activity of art. Our work is based upon a simple idea – articulated nicely by Robert Henri – which is this: art is the province of every human being. Each of us has the capacity to create, to feel profoundly, and to express who we are. We focus on painting and we do this through painting classes, instructional videos, exhibitions, and writing.

Monet explained that "what nobody gets is that when I stand before nature, it is a total self-surrender." Monet isn't "capturing" the light or anything. He's surrendering. He's wanting to be captured. Slipping into a realm of wonder is a rush. Get to the rush and the art will follow.
