The beauty of "Irish twins" is slim separation.
So much of the 90's we were a paired formation.
"Get one in red then one in blue" mom & dad's easy solution.
Still, there's no escaping our natural evolution.
We grew. You more. Both in height and in stature,
A glow-up so sharp that it was easy to capture.
But I've been witness to a different type of growth.
Baby smiles, to garage bands, to Hippocratic oath.
There were clean shaven years but those are a blur.
Then some gym-less years, not ones you'd prefer.
I saw you conquer all schools, becoming a doc we all trust.
You keep that passport handy, feeding your wanderlust.
You stand by your friends, a man with conviction.
Your integrity won't waver. Just my little prediction.
But the version of you that’s brought me the most joy,
Is seeing Chachu Bhanz form, this giddy little boy.
You beam with pride that is radiant and pure,
In your arms she is settled, content and secure.
She’s still such a tot, but she knows your kind face,
And the calm of your voice in this soft, steady space.
The world gets the doctor, the man with the drive,
But she gets the peace where the quiet things thrive.
Beyond every title and every degree,
I’m just proud of the man you’ve chosen to be.
Love you Bhanz
