No grannies were harmed here, I promise! 🙌 Idk why, but I love Red Riding Hood and every once in a while I redraw her 😅😂
A couple of months ago, sent me the Magic Drawing Pad, and I couldn’t wait to try it!✨ I’ve always worked on the desktop, so this was a totally new experience.
The display is the highlight: big, with high res, and matte that gives a soft paper-like feeling without any glassy reflections.
Another strong point is the storage (256 GB, expandable, perfect for artists), as well as its very budget-friendly price.
That said, to be honest, it’s not my favorite XP-PEN product so far🙈🫤
Gestures don’t work well together with the pen: you have to lift the pen to use your free hand.
The pen has a nice weight, but I wish it had more grip, especially around the shortcut button, which is flat.
Performance is fine for sketches and not too complex drawings, but the CPU and RAM struggle with heavy projects (for this 2500x3800 px drawing I stayed within the range of 21 layers). I also noticed some pen glitches and weak palm rejection (I highly reccomend using the glove to avoid accidental strokes or gestures).
Overall, I’d place this tablet in the mid range🤗: perfect for sketches, small artworks, and social media posts. Also great for beginners who want a portable drawing device without spending too much.
