"My work is based on spontaneity and instinct. I try to transfer everyday emotions into my jewellery in an impulsive way. This method allows me to develop works that are unique and sculptural. I endeavor to use the same sort of approach as I do when painting and often treat the surface of the metal as a canvas. In 2004 Calatrava was selected to redesign the Athens Olympic Sports Complex. As well as the Olympic Stadium and the Velodrome, Calatrava designed the Agora (pictured) which runs almost 1,600 feet along the northern edge of the site and offers a shady, curving promenade of 99 tubular steel arches.

Invited to the first edition of the biennial "Orizzonti d'Autore" curated by Thereza Pedrosa and awarded the Archeometra Lifetime Achievement Award, Giampaolo Babetto traces his 55-year career in a retrospective with more than 60 works including jewelry, silverware and objects. On display in Asolo's Sala della Ragione from May 7 to July 24, 2022. The book "BABETTO | The Entity of Being" edited by was also published for the occasion.

Sumela Monastery is a Greek Orthodox monastery dedicated to the Virgin Mary located in Trabzon, Turkey. Nestled on a steep cliff at an altitude of about 1,200 meters, it is a site of great architectural and historical significance. The monastery was abandoned in 1923, becoming a museum and a popular tourist attraction with its breathtaking location, structure and scenery.
