La serie UNFOLD e’ un evoluzione del mio lavoro con le tessere strappate.
UNFOLD e’ una superficie che apre, che si rivela, che muta attraverso rotture, vuoti e bordi irregolari. E’ la celebrazione del gesto istintivo e della forza comunicativa di un materiale semplice.
UNFOLD e’ terra impastata che rivela se stessa in una forma che suggerisce senza essere necessariamente qualcosa e che non rivendica una funzione se non quella di ricordare che esiste ancora il piacere dell’esperienza visiva.

 The UNFOLD series is an evolution of my work with torn tiles. UNFOLD is a surface that opens, reveals itself, and transforms through breaks, voids, and irregular edges. It is a celebration of instinctive gesture and the communicative power of a simple material. UNFOLD is kneaded earth that reveals itself in a form that suggests rather than necessarily being something, and it does not claim a function other than to remind us that there is still the pleasure of visual experience and the harmony created by the balance of elements.

IN UNA DIMENSIONE GREZZA

La dimensione grezza e’ il potenziale di bellezza del materiale di cui e’ fatto un oggetto. E’ un approccio immediato e spontaneo in cui i legami e le connessioni aprono costantemente alla sperimentazione e all’evoluzione. E’ un’esperienza sensoriale che rimane impressa nell’oggetto attraverso il gesto e persiste come stadio ultimo, anche dopo il colore e lo smalto.
Mi piace utilizzare l’espressione di grezzo raffinato per definire il mio lavoro.

IN A RAW DIMENSION

The raw dimension is the potential beauty of the material from which an object is made.It’s an immediate and spontaneous approach in which bonds and connections constantly open up to experimentation and evolution. It’s a sensory experience that leaves an impression on the object through the gesture and persists as the final stage, even after the color and glaze. That’s why I like to use the expression “raw refined ” to describe my work.

THE SPACE BETWEEN - 2025

E’ quello che resta del gesto : i vuoti; le fratture, le cicatrici.

The space between is what remains.

What remains of the gesture of manual construction: the voids; the fractures; the scars; the spaces between pieces of clay precariously clinging to one another.

The imprinted gesture shapes the object in search of lightness and balance in structures conceived from the void.

WHO I AM

Remembering that I love to mix, sketch, break, shatter, refine, defy balance and stability.

The process of manual construction becomes texture. Every small piece support and is supported, in a whole defined by my taste for what can be both raw and refined.
