We were truly happy and honored to have had Maestro Cavalli with us ✨

Some of them will soon perform in the exciting world premiere of Caligula’s Favorite Play by Margarita Zelenaia, freely inspired by Albert Camus’ Caligula, at the historic Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza 🎭 Right after that upcoming production of Don Giovanni at Teatro Asioli, Correggio 🇮🇹

Regium Lepidi is delighted to welcome Maestro Roberto Bongiovanni as conductor for the world premiere of Caligula’s Favorite Play by Margarita Zelenaia, based on and freely inspired by Albert Camus’ Caligula. The highly anticipated premiere will take place on the historic stage of Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza in June 16 2026.
Maestro Bongiovanni has collaborated extensively with Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro Massimo di Palermo, and prestigious institutions around the world. He previously appeared with Regium Lepidi Opera last summer as music director and conductor for Le Nozze di Figaro and our Christmas Concert. We are thrilled to welcome him back for this unique upcoming event.

✨🎭Special Announcement for Regium Lepidi Opera Festival 2026
We are always growing and reaching new artistic heights, and this year we are proud to share something truly special.
This summer, the role of Il Commendatore in our production of Don Giovanni will be performed by a remarkable bass with an international career spanning over 20 years - Francesco Milanese. He has appeared on the stages of some of Europe’s most renowned opera houses, including Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Salzburg Festival, and the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.
He has also collaborated with leading conductors such as Donato Renzetti, Riccardo Frizza, Nello Santi, Zubin Mehta, Keri-Lynn Wilson, and Myung-Whun Chung.
There are still a few spots available in our summer opera program - a unique experience to learn from great singers, share the stage with professional artists, and grow in a way that only real theater and full productions can offer.✨

We are seeking lead singers for the premiere of the new opera Caligula at Teatro Olimpico, Vicenza, premiering in June 2026.
Roles sought: bass, bass-baritone, baritone, and tenor.

The opera will be performed in English.
