Aboard the Starcruiser, Saja taught passengers to slow down, pay attention, and trust the path in front of them.

Naturally, we turned that into a retro advertisement.

Follow the Path is one of three new additions to our Starcruiser-inspired Vault Boy series, and probably the least likely of the three to get you recruited by the First Order or talked into a suspicious business opportunity.

It’s available as a print, sticker, and magnet, with Halcy-Con pre-orders open now for event pickup.

Because apparently enlightenment also needed merchandise.

Well. It’s been a minute.

We’ve been pretty quiet around here for the past several months while life pulled our attention in several directions at once, because apparently one direction would have been too convenient.

But we’re making things again. And it feels really, really good.

Our first big stop is Halcy-Con 2026, where 5th & Rugged will be returning as Stellar Voyages.

We’ve been working on new Starcruiser-inspired art, expanding the Vault Boy crew, revisiting a few older ideas in new ways, and building some things specifically for this year’s convention.

One of those new pieces is Beyond Tomorrow, a mid-century take on the optimism, elegance, and impossible promise of the Halcyon.

We’re also introducing our Halcy-Con exclusive, The Light We Carry Still, which has a much more personal story behind it.

I wrote a little more about all of that — and about what we’ve been up to — on the blog.

Halcy-Con preorders are open now for event pickup for anyone who wants to make sure a particular piece is waiting for them at the booth.

Back when we were deep in creative work for El Yucateco (), we apparently decided hot sauce deserved ceremonial barware.

So I made some.

Posca pens.
Metal sealer.
Absolutely no fear of color.

We’ve got a few blank shakers left.

Considering a small batch before they start feeling neglected.

Nine years ago today, I flew out to Bentonville to Amy’s house to work together on our first commercial project.

Waiting for us was a travel easel.
Not even a real easel.

We built it in the kitchen with her son Alex, who was 13 at the time and offered one very important piece of advice…

I had been poking fun at Amy (like we do), and he very quietly whispered to me:

“Don’t anger it.”

We took that under serious consideration.

The easel worked.
So did we.

A red umbrella carrying a little warmth through it all.

When the world goes cold — body, mind, soul —
we follow the light.
