✨ Wrapping up Overseas Project in Iceland ✨
Over the past year, our workshop series in Reykjavik has brought together migrants, refugees, asylum seekers, and locals in a shared space of creativity, movement, and storytelling.
We worked in a beautiful, accessible spaces such as Andrými, Dansverkstæðið, and Vitatorg Social Center run by Rauði krossinn.
Some highlights of what we achieved together:
🌱 Created an open, inclusive space for over 40 participants from countries including Ukraine, Venezuela, Turkey, Iran, and Afghanistan.
🌱 Offered workshops led by diverse team of four educators and volunteers, ensuring personal attention and multilingual support.
🌱 Developed new participatory theatre tools and approaches that will allow us to facilitate new initiatives and projects.
🌱 Introduced participants to variety of creative tools including movement, visual arts, storytelling, character development, crafting, building installations and most importantly, being a part of a creative group process.
🌱 Developed a fruitful connection with our Polish partner Stowarzyszenie Pedagogów Teatru and met their wonderful group of workshop participants.
🌱 Ended with a joyful event - Open House Vitatorg - where participants performed the theatre show that we collaboratively developed, participated in Open Stage event with singing, dancing, and playing music.
💛 Thank you to everyone who made this possible — our curious participants, dedicated educators, volunteers, and partners.
Your openness, energy, and creativity made this project thrive ✨
