You may be feeling a sense of Déjà vu with this next guest announcement. Well, it is such an honour to have Agatha Christie’s great grandson join us this year, we felt James deserved another mention!

So let’s give a warm Iceland Noir welcome to James Prichard, Chairman and CEO of Agatha Christie Limited (ACL) and as already mentioned once or twice, Agatha’s great grandson.

ACL has managed the literary and media rights to Agatha Christie's work around the world since 1955. With collaborations from the very best talents in film, television, publishing, stage and digital platforms, ACL ensures she continues to reach new audiences in innovative ways to the highest of standards.

James oversees all divisions of the company, which includes a growing film presence. As Executive Producer on A Haunting in Venice, Death on the Nile and Murder on the Orient Express, James has worked with some industry greats. All three were produced by 20th Century Studios and directed by Academy Award winner Kenneth Branagh, who also stars as Poirot.

Executive Producer on a recent Netflix adaptation, The Seven Dials Mystery, James has also led a new vision for Agatha Christie’s works in theatre, with a critically acclaimed immersive production of Witness for the Prosecution at County Hall on London’s South Bank.

Don’t get confused, we’re not squeezing two authors into one post! This fantastic author hailing from Leeds in the UK is our next guest announcement, so let’s welcome Steve Mosby AKA Alex North to the Iceland Noir family this year.

Alex North found critical acclaim with his first novel The Whisper Man as a Sunday Times, New York Times and international bestseller. Published in 2019, it has already been translated into over 30 languages. With the recent release of The Whisper Man on Netflix (when we say recent, we mean three days ago!) starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Monaghan, and Adam Scott, Alex’s work continues to reach new audiences.

Before writing as Alex North he published ten crime novels as Steve Mosby, winning the Crime Writers' Association Dagger in the Library in 2012, an award which recognises an author's body of work and popularity with library users.

A former Philosophy student at the University of Leeds, Steve later worked in the Department of Sociology and Social Policy before becoming a full-time writer.

Now the kids are back in school (in Iceland at least) and just a few months to go before we welcome you to Iceland Noir 2026, we still have plenty more news to share.

Our next announcement, who will be gracing our stage in November, is New York Times bestselling author Riley Sager. Author of ten novels and “a master of twists” as quoted by The New York Times Book Review, Riley’s most recent works include ‘With a Vengeance’, ‘Middle of the Night’ and ‘The Only One Left’ as well as ‘The Unknown’ that was released on 4th August 2026.

Riley has seen his work published in 40 countries with more than 5 million copies sold worldwide. A former journalist and editor, Riley’s work frequently sets the scene using isolated settings to heighten tension and with his New York Times bestselling status in 2018, he has seen consistent commercial success since.

On the 18th August 1786 our beloved capital city Reykjavík officially received its town charter. Now 240 years later we are celebrating once again with the annual festival Menningarnótt (men-ing-kar-nouht).

Commonly known as Culture Night and typically held on the first Saturday after the 18th August, the city bursts into life. Thousands of participants take part in the Reykjavík Marathon and once the runners have been cheered across the finishing line, a day of cultural activities continues with people soaking up the atmosphere, celebrating community spirit and Icelandic art.

We are proud of our city and like to celebrate in style. Whilst the Iceland Noir team might be taking a little break today to embrace the festivities, we wish everyone a fun-filled Menningarnótt and maybe one day our foreign friends will come out to see it for themselves.

Despite being a relatively small city, Reykjavík boasts a vibrant cultural scene and is always bursting with life, and this weekend is no exception.

With that in mind all of us at Iceland Noir would like to wish everyone a Happy Reykjavík Pride 2026.

The sun has been shining on Reykjavík today and as we have been enjoying the pleasant weather, we thought it was about time for another announcement. We have already hinted at this guest as she is part of our Agatha Christie Day, but now it’s time to put Kelly Mullen in the spotlight.

An author, producer and marketing executive, Kelly took online writing courses during the pandemic which reignited her childhood passion for writing, and she has never looked back. Her debut novel, This Is Not a Game, was listed as one of Waterstones’ Best Crime & Thrillers of 2025 and was called “Fabulous, over-the-top fun” by The Guardian.

As an executive producer, Kelly’s credits include the Academy Award-nominated movie Trumbo starring Bryan Cranston and Helen Mirren and the AppleTV+ documentary Dads, which she produced with Ron Howard. In addition, Kelly’s creative work for brands has won over 50 awards, including Cannes Lions and Clios.

Originally from Iowa, Kelly now lives in London with her husband and their rescue cats and is a passionate Agatha Christie fan.

Have you got your Iceland Noir tickets yet? If not, maybe this announcement will help. Everyone behind the scenes are very excited to share the news that celebrated British author Lee Child is joining us this November.

Winner of The Crime Writer’s Association prestigious Diamond Dagger award in 2013, Coventry born Lee is best known for his thriller novels featuring the iconic Jack Reacher, a former military police officer known for his sharp instincts, formidable skills and unwavering sense of justice. Since the introduction of Jack Reacher in Killing Floor, Lee has seen his books sell over 200 million copies worldwide, been translated into over 50 languages and inspired successful film and television adaptations.

Lee wasn't always a full time novelist and before Jack Reacher came alone he had an 18 year career at Granada Television in Manchester, an experience that helped shape his fast-paced, cinematic storytelling style. A corporate restructuring led to Lee being fired and when some would have seen a crisis, he saw an opportunity and after purchasing six dollars worth of paper and pencils, Lee sat down to write a book.

With numerous literary awards under his belt and a devoted international readership, Lee’s work is widely praised for its gripping plots and memorable characters, establishing him as one of the most influential voices in modern crime and suspense fiction.

Welcome BAFTA, Royal Television Society and Peabody award-winning screenwriter, producer and playwright, Chris Chibnall. Creator of the internationally acclaimed Broadchurch, Chris was also showrunner for the BBC’s Doctor Who from 2018 to 2022, casting Jodie Whittaker as the first female Doctor and winning multiple awards domestically and internationally.

Chris is also the recipient of the prestigious FIPA Prix D’Honneur, and honorary doctorates from Edge Hill University and Sheffield Hallam University. Chris’ latest work, the Netflix miniseries Seven Dials that premiered in January 2026, is based on Agatha Christie’s 1929 novel and has really got us excited at Iceland Noir.

We are looking forward to Chris’ contribution to our Agatha Christie Day as we commemorate 50 years since the ‘Queen of Crime’ passed. It is sure to be a memorable occasion so come and join us to find out more.

One of the things we love at Iceland Noir is seeing the many nations and cultures that cross our stage. With that in mind we are delighted to extend this welcome for a taste of Ireland as we introduce Liz Nugent.

Liz is a best-selling Irish crime writer and first began to write for broadcast in 2003. Up to 2013 she was a Story Associate on the popular Irish television soap opera Fair City, and had several pieces accepted for Sunday Miscellany, a radio series specialising in nostalgic autobiographical writing.

Liz's first novel, Unravelling Oliver (2014), was published to critical acclaim and cemented her as the award-winning psychological suspense author we know today. Following her debut novel, Liz went on to write Lying in Wait (2016), Skin Deep (2018), Our Little Cruelties (2020), Strange Sally Diamond (2023), and The Truth About Ruby Cooper (2026).

All six novels topped the Irish bestseller list whilst Liz also received multiple awards, including Crime Novel of the Year at the Irish Book Awards for Unravelling Oliver and the Irish Tatler Woman of the Year award in Literature in October 2017. Furthermore, Liz was also awarded Writer of the Year at the Goss.ie Women of the Year awards in 2023.

Liz has also seen her work translated into over 30 languages across 42 territories with some of her books having been optioned for screen adaptations.
