VERIÐ VELKOMIN á opnun sýningarinnar “BOOK OF DAYS” í Ganginum næstkomandi miðvikudag 2. september 2026, frá kl. 17-19 að Brautarholti 8, 105 Reykjavík. Finnski listamaðurinn JUKKA KORKEILA fæddist árið 1968 í Hämeenlinna í Finnlandi. Hann býr og starfar í Berlín og Glauburg-Stockheim, Þýskalandi og að auki í Helsinki, Finnlandi. Jukka sýnir málverk á striga og pappír, ásamt klippimyndum úr veggspjöldum, í bland við málverk beint á veggi og glugga. Listamaðurinn verður viðstaddur opnunina ásamt manni sínum Markus Karger. / WELCOME ALL to the opening of the exhibition BOOK OF DAYS in The Corridor Gallery next Wednesday September 2nd 2026, from 17:00-19:00, at Brautarholt 8, 105 Reykjavik. The Finnish artist JUKKA KORKEILA was born 1968 in Hämeenlinna in Finnland. He lives and works in Berlin and Glauburg-Stockheim, Germany as well as in Helsinki, Finnland. Korkeila will be exhibiting paintings on canvas, and paper and poster collages, to which he will combine wall and window paintings. The artist and his partner Markus Karger will be present at the opening.

Jukka Korkeila was born in 1968 in Hämeenlinna, Finland. He lives and works in Berlin, Glauburg-Stockheim and Helsinki.
Korkeila has held exhibitions in 26 countries around the world.
Korkeila has had solo exhibitions both at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm and the Nordic Watercolor Museum in Skärhamn, Sweden. In 2014-2015, Korkeila participated in the fourth Biennal del Fin del Mundo in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
In 2017-2018, he participated in the Pleasure exhibitions at the Helsinki Art Museum, HAM, and the Serlachius Museum in Mänttä. In 2018, Korkeila's work was included in the exhibition Sanguine/Bloedrood, curated by Luc Tuymans, at the Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp (M HKA) in Belgium. In 2019, Korkeila was awarded the Finnish State Prize for visual arts. In 2022, he participated in the Biennale Le Latitudini dell'Arte V ed. at Palazzo Ducale, Genoa, Italy, curated by Paul Thomassen. In 2022, Korkeila participated in the exhibition Dreamy at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma, Helsinki, Finland, curated by Max Hannus. In 2023, his paintings from Malmö Art Museum's collection were included in the Happily Ever After exhibition at Malmö Art Museum, curated by Julia Björnberg and Anna Johansson. In 2024, the painting Art of Falling Apart from Moderna Museet's collection was shown at The Third Hand, Maurizio Cattelan and Moderna Museet's collection - exhibition at Moderna Museet, Stockholm, curated by Maurizio Cattelan. In 2025, Korkeila had a major retrospective exhibition, Pimeys on täynnä valoa (Darkness is full of light), at the Hämeenlinna Art Museum in Hämeenlinna, Finland, curated by Soile Ollikainen and the exhibition with the same name, Dunkelheit ist voller Licht (Darkness is full of light), coincided in Berlin last autumn with Wolf & Galentz.

Listamaðurinn var viðstaddur opnunina (og dansaði jafnvel). / Dancing fun at a great opening of an exhibition in The Corridor Gallery last Sunday May 17th 2026. The German artist HOLGER BUNK (born 1954), who lives and works í Amsterdam, Holland exhibits works on paper and textile. The artist was present at the opening (and even dancing).

Bandaríska listakonan Dove Bradshaw (f. 1949) sem býr og starfar í NY hefur gefið Listasafni Íslands tvö verk af sýningunni „ON ICELAND - IN DIALOGUE“ - samvinnuverkefni með Stalke Gallery í Danmörku (Stalke out of Space), sem er nýafstaðin í Ganginunum gallerýi. Um er að ræða málverk og skúlptúr sem verða hluti af varanlegri safneign erlendra verka í eigu Listasafns Íslands. Dove Bradshaw á verk á virtum söfnum og í eigu einkasafnara víða um heim. Myndir af gjafaverkunum og lista yfir nokkur söfn og einkasafnara sem eiga verk eftir Dove má sjá í myndaröðinni sem hér fylgir, auk mynda af afhendingu gjafarinnar til Listasafn Íslands, þar sem Helgi Þorgils og Rakel afhentu Dagnýju Heiðdal, skráningarstjóra Listasafns Íslands gjafabréf frá Dove. Hjartanlegar þakkir til Dove Bradshaw fyrir þessa höfðinglegu gjöf til íslensku þjóðarinnar. / The American artist Dove Bradshaw (b. 1949) who lives and works in NY has donated two of her works to the National Gallery of Iceland. The works, a painting and a sculpture, are from the exhibition “ON ICELAND - IN DIALOGUE”, a collaboration with Stalke Gallery in Danmark (Stalke out of Space), that recently ended in The Corridor Gallery. The artworks will become a part of the permanent collection of foreign works owned by the National Gallery of Iceland. Dove Bradshaw’s works are owned by prestigious museums and private collectors around the world. Pictures of the donated works and a list of several museums and private collectors that own works by Dove can be seen in the photo series that follows, as well as photos of the gift certificates being delivered to the National Gallery of Iceland, where Helgi Thorgils Fridjonsson and Rakel Halldorsdottir presented Dagny Heiddal, the Director of Registration at the National Gallery of Iceland, with the gift certificates from Dove. Heartfelt thanks to Dove Bradshaw for this noble gift to the Icelandic nation.

Nokkrar myndir frá opnun sýningarinnar ON ICELAND - IN DIALOGUE í Ganginum. Um var að ræða samvinnuverkefni við STALKE OUT OF SPACE. Sýningunni er nú lokið en hún samanstóð af verkum þriggja listamanna, bandarísku listakonunnar Dove Bradshaw (f. 1949) sem býr og starfar í NY, auk tveggja kunnra danskra listamanna Aske Sigurd Kraul (f. 1985) og Sam Jedig (f. 1959) sem auk þess að sinna eigin listsköpun hefur rekið Stalke Galleri í áraraðir. Öll voru þau viðstödd við opnunina. Samhliða var opnuð POP UP sýning með sömu listamönnum á Kambi við Þjórsá á Suðurlandi. / A few photos from the opening of the exhibition ON ICELAND - IN DIALOGUE in The Corridor Gallery. The exhibition is now finished. It consisted of works by three prominent artists, Dove Bradshaw (b. 1949) living and working in NY, as well as Aske Sigurd Kraul (b. 1985) and Sam Jedig (b. 1959) both Danish. Sam, as well as working as an artist and curator, has run Stalke Gallery in Denmark for years. The exhibition was a collaboration with STALKE OUT OF SPACE. The artists were all present at the opening. In relation to this exhibition a POP UP exhibition with the same artists was opened at Kambur near Hella on the south coast of Iceland.
