Bandaríska listakonan Dove Bradshaw (f. 1949) sem býr og starfar í NY hefur gefið Listasafni Íslands tvö verk af sýningunni „ON ICELAND - IN DIALOGUE“ - samvinnuverkefni með Stalke Gallery í Danmörku (Stalke out of Space), sem er nýafstaðin í Ganginunum gallerýi. Um er að ræða málverk og skúlptúr sem verða hluti af varanlegri safneign erlendra verka í eigu Listasafns Íslands. Dove Bradshaw á verk á virtum söfnum og í eigu einkasafnara víða um heim. Myndir af gjafaverkunum og lista yfir nokkur söfn og einkasafnara sem eiga verk eftir Dove má sjá í myndaröðinni sem hér fylgir, auk mynda af afhendingu gjafarinnar til Listasafn Íslands, þar sem Helgi Þorgils og Rakel afhentu Dagnýju Heiðdal, skráningarstjóra Listasafns Íslands gjafabréf frá Dove. Hjartanlegar þakkir til Dove Bradshaw fyrir þessa höfðinglegu gjöf til íslensku þjóðarinnar. / The American artist Dove Bradshaw (b. 1949) who lives and works in NY has donated two of her works to the National Gallery of Iceland. The works, a painting and a sculpture, are from the exhibition “ON ICELAND - IN DIALOGUE”, a collaboration with Stalke Gallery in Danmark (Stalke out of Space), that recently ended in The Corridor Gallery. The artworks will become a part of the permanent collection of foreign works owned by the National Gallery of Iceland. Dove Bradshaw’s works are owned by prestigious museums and private collectors around the world. Pictures of the donated works and a list of several museums and private collectors that own works by Dove can be seen in the photo series that follows, as well as photos of the gift certificates being delivered to the National Gallery of Iceland, where Helgi Thorgils Fridjonsson and Rakel Halldorsdottir presented Dagny Heiddal, the Director of Registration at the National Gallery of Iceland, with the gift certificates from Dove. Heartfelt thanks to Dove Bradshaw for this noble gift to the Icelandic nation.
