"Non Mutually Inclusive 1” is a concert installation from PAKK Collective that explores the edges and adjacent surfaces of contemporary compositions, installation and performance art. With a purposefully diverse curation of works and speculations about what the classically trained instrumentalist should and should not do on stage, PAKK aims to create a nonsensical yet cohesive feeling concert experience that flirts with the boundaries of the absurd. PAKK invites you to an hour-long feast of experimental sound and stage performances begotten from the duo's nagging desire to reach even deeper into themselves on stage than their academically informed music circle expects of them, and hopefully find clear answers to questions that are likely to arise during the event, such as "Was that all?”, "Was this really necessary?”, and "Who is that third person in the video?”.

It’s out today! 🎤🌵👀🚚✨

To be entirely honest we’ve completely forgotten on which exact day we recorded this, so we’re gonna lie to you that we recorded our somewhat ASMR/podcast inspired rendition of timelessly awkward masterpiece “Laughter Study 1” on International ASMR Day April 9th, to celebrate our admiration for all things tingly, triggery, podcasty and Louisy. Check the link in bio! 👀👀👀👀

Endless thanks to Patrick, Ole and Hafnar-haus for the production assistance!! 🙌🙏💖

“PAKK Collective” is a contemporary music group organised by Ragnar Jónsson, cellist, and Flemming Viðar Valmundsson, accordionist, which both studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

They started their collaboration whilst attending the Aarhus based contemporary music course "Danish New Music Academy" in the summer of 2022, where their first exploit consisted of a performance of an electro-acoustic work by Christian Winther Christensen, which delighted the audience and also confirmed their suspicion that their paths in art could lie together.

PAKK Collective, which defines itself as an expandable 'post-instrumental' music group, questions the manifestations and roles of the academically/classically educated music performer, and aims as such to preferably perform works and procure events that aren´t easily definable as any one thing, but focus more upon contextualising performance- and conceptual art within the framework of music.

The core constellation of the group is based on the duo of Ragnar and Flemming, but additional performers are added as required. PAKK's main goal is to tirelessly produce and cater the evergreens of the rapidly growing ´post-instrumental´ musical trend to their audiences, and to expand its repertoire through frequent commissioning and workshops with composers and sound artists.
