The Freezer The Freezer is a social hostel, professional theater and artist residency. Our premises are a renovated fish factory in the small village of Rif, Iceland.

The Freezer in Rif is a professional theatre, artists residency and social hostel founded by local actor and theater maker, Kári Viðarsson in the spring of 2010. Previously the space served as a fish factory but after a lot of renovation and relentless work, The Freezer is now prepared to host the culture-thirsty guests artists and tourists of Snæfellsnes peninsula. heatre that produces one or two new Icelandic theatre shows each year. These shows are always inspired by stories and sagas from the local area as it is the theatre´s goal to rejuvenate these sometimes forgotten tales and make them come alive for a younger audience in an exciting and newfound way.
