Vinningspeysan kom frá Helgu Linnet og heitir Í Uppsveitum. :-)
Dásamlegur dagur í gær. Fjölmargir gestir komu og fylgdust með úrslitunum. Dómararnir stóðu sig vel og völdu úr miklu magni af glæsilegum peysum - en 24 peysur skiluðu sér til keppninnar. :-o
Hjartans þakkir, hönnuðir, dómarar, gestir og ekki síst Þórkatla sem hjálpaði mér að halda ræðu og kynna verkefnið.

Hönnunarsamkeppni Uppspuna um lopapeysu kvenbóndans er að klárast.
Fullt af peysum bárust og á morgun verða úrslitin kynnt og besta peysan fer á þessa gínu. 🥰 Sýning á peysunum verður í bílskúrnum á móti Uppspuna frá 16:00-17:30 laugardaginn 20. júní og sunnudaginn 21. Frá 13:00-16:00.

Uppspuni's designer's competition for a sweater for women farmers is about to finish.
Tomorrow the results will be announced and the best sweater will be put on this person. 🥰
We got a lot of beautiful sweaters and they will be for a display in the garage across the street from Uppspuni / Icelandyarn - MiniMill from 4pm to 5.30pm 20th of June and on the 21st of June from 1pm to 4pm.
I am looking so much forward to showing you the lovely sweaters. So if you are travelling nearby, please check in and have a look. 😊🙋‍♀️

Peysusamkeppnin hefur vakið áhuga og ég er komin með slatta af mjög fallegum peysum.
Enn eru nokrir dagar þangað til skilafresturinn rennur út (15. júní) og það er best að koma peysunum til mín í Uppspuna eða senda þær. En ég verð á Prjónagleðinni og get tekið við peysum þar líka. :-)
Myndin er af alnetinu fyrir athygli eingöngu. :-)

My sweater competition is going great and I have received several sweaters. There are few days for return deadline (15th of June) and it is best to deliver or send the sweaters to Uppspuni.
I will be at then knitfestival in the North, so I can also take them with me from there if you are also going. :-)

Ég fékk ábendingu um að skiladagur hönnunarkeppninar væri ekki heppilegur fyrir sauðfjárbændur, þar sem þeir eru á fullu í sauðburði á þessum tíma. Ég ákvað því að framlengja frestinn til 15. júní, því hver ætti að skilja þetta betur en ég? :-D
Sauðburður er búinn hjá okkur, við byrjum alltaf frekar snemma og nú eru bara eftirlegukindurnar eftir.

I was reminded that women farmers in Iceland are busy in lambing at this time of year, - yes, who should know that better than I? :-D
Even though our lambing is over - only the leftover 5 that we are waiting for now left, it is not the case at every farm in Iceland.
Therefore I have decided to extend the deadline to hand in the sweater for the competition to 15th of June.

I am getting very excited. :-)

The United Nations have declaired the year of 2026 “The International Year of the Woman Farmer.” Well. Being a woman farmer, I just have to do something to promote that. So we decided to hold a Competition for designers to design a sweater for the women farmers all over the world, but of course ...
