Looking forward to todays openings here in Húsavík!

For the open studios, there will be 5 different artists installed, including a video installation by Magdalen Wong investigating the use of Icelandic landscapes in Hollywood films and landscape paintings by Kate McKay.

In the public space there will be an installation for List Án Landamæra Listahátíð (Art Without Borders) with some incredible technicolour tapestry work by Einar Annels from Midjan Haefing

Looking forward to the sonic feast at 4pm today at the open studios! There´ll be some unusual recordings of Icelandic silence by Sarah Faraday / James Birchall (UK) - bit.ly/1Re3rtY ...and the sounds of the Northern Lights captured by Nataliya Petkova(BG) - bit.ly/1SIe2CS. Alongside this will be photographic and video work by artists from around the world, with Kirthana Devdas (IN) - bit.ly/1SId3md.... Anna Amethyst (DE) - bit.ly/24WuyEl .... Martin Cox - bit.ly/1U868E4 - (UK) ...and some shiny silver leafed sci-fi from Jessie Rose Vala (US) - bit.ly/21nWlcd.

Fjúk is taking part in the Leifur Eiriksson Exploration Awards festival in the autumn of 2016, and will bring in artists working around the theme of 'exploration'. Exciting times coming ahead.
