Boreal Screendance Festival

Boreal Screendance Festival Screendance Festival in Akureyri, Iceland. Established 2020. Since then Boreal has branched out to other venues in the city, including the Akureyri Art Museum.

Boreal is an international video dance festival that had its first edition in November 2020 in Mjólkurbúðin Gallery, Akureyri. Various screendance pieces were projected by a variety of artists from different countries, but mostly from Iceland and Mexico. The project promotes collaboration between countries with the main objective to spread and share video dance in Iceland.

We’re starting our traditional screenings of Boreal at Deiglan, tonight at 20:00!
We kindly ask you to bring warm socks or slippers, as we’ll be asking everyone to take off their shoes both to keep the cozy atmosphere and to protect the very new and renovated floor of Deiglan.
Free entrance and popcorn! 🍿

Spread the word about Boreal! The Akureyri Art Museum is open from 12:00 to 17:00 every day and the entrance is free to Boreal during the festival period.
Mjólkurbúðin is running in the evenings to bring dance and light to the wither nights!
