We visited Majó, located in Laxdalshús, the oldest house in Akureyri, which serves wonderful sushi surrounded by artworks. The restaurant and artist studio is run by Jónína Björg and Magnús Jón Magnússon. Artist Jónína Björg also has her studio there, and we were lucky enough to peek over her shoulder while she worked. Majó in Laxdalshús a refreshing mix of art and a culinary experience that is definitely worth a visit.

Pálshús safnahús is a natural museum in Ólafsfjörður that hosts interesting exhibitions on nature and the history of the place, as well as art exhibitions. The exhibition "The Desire to Fly" is currently on show, exploring Icelandic bird fauna and the human desire to fly. In addition, the wonderful exhibition "Tengingar - Connections" by textile artist Helga Pálína Brynjólfsdóttir is running until the 15th of September 2021. Kompan exhibition space regularly hosts art exhibitions and music events among many other events. In additions to this, Alþýðuhúsið á Siglufirði houses Aðalheiður’s fantastic studio. We visited Verksmiðjan á Hjalteyri. A venue for art exhibitions and events with a unique atmosphere that absolutely amazed us. Verksmiðjan á Hjalteyri offers a space for a variety of wonderful exhibitions that span various media. The fantastic exhibition "ENDURÓMUR / RESONANCE" with Angela Dufresne, Olga Bergmann, Anna Hallin, Vesa-Pekka Rannikko, Simon Rouby is still on display until the 5th of September 2021. It holds a diverse and regularly changing exhibition programme, representing a wide and wonderful range of artistic positions. We visited Mjólkurbuðin, where the fantastic exhibition Vera with Christine Gísla, Katrín Gísladóttir and Jóna Þorvaldsdóttir was currently on display.
