Was waiting for my regular bus-shuttle ride to the metro station few weeks ago. As I entered the teenage attendant asked 'Are you a doctor madam ?'. I looked back at him with some amusement and replied, 'No I am an artist'. His eyes lit up and he immediately asked if I would make a small canvas painting of waterfall and nature for him. While still confused at the sudden ask and not sure how to respond I just smiled and took my seat. But the next day he promptly followed up only to be disciplined by the bus driver to not ask things from passengers. He complied.
A few weeks passed as I was completely drowned running intense art workshops for kids. But somehow his request kept popping up in my mind.
And this Friday I was at the shuttle point with his painting which was done in haste in a day. He was in for a shock and just kept thanking. He had not expected that his request to a stranger will be responded to.
No this post is not about what I did but two things actually,
1. The answer to every question and request not asked is always 'No'. Go ahead and ask, and life may surprise you
2. If you are talented in any aspect, do pay it forward to bring up a little bit of cheer and smile to the unsuspecting
