CRYPTANTHUS 💚💚💚 is a beautiful group of tropical plants belonging to the Bromeliaceae (bromeliad) family. They are commonly called Earth Star plants because their leaves grow in a low, star-shaped rosette close to the ground.

* Scientific name: Cryptanthus spp.
* Family: Bromeliaceae
* Origin: Brazil
* Appearance: Long, pointed leaves arranged in a star-like rosette.
* Colours: Green, pink, red, purple, and combinations with stripes or bands.
* Light: Bright, indirect light is generally best.
* Water: Keep the growing medium slightly moist, but avoid waterlogging.
* Soil: Well-draining, porous soil is important.
* Propagation: Usually propagated through offsets (pups) that develop around the mother plant.
* Flowers: Small, usually white flowers can appear from the center of the plant.

Interesting fact: Unlike many bromeliads that grow on trees, Cryptanthus species are generally terrestrial, meaning they naturally grow on or near the ground.

🌱 Hygrophila Polysperma Green

* Type: Stem plant
* Difficulty: ⭐ Easy — excellent for beginners
* Growth: Fast-growing
* Light: Low to medium; stronger light gives denser growth
* CO₂: Not required, but CO₂ can improve growth
* Substrate: Not very demanding; it can also grow well when planted in ordinary aquarium substrate.
* Temperature: Roughly 20–30°C
* pH: Around 6–8
* Propagation: Very easy — cut the top portion of a healthy stem and replant it.

✂️ Important tip

It can grow very quickly, so regular trimming is useful. When you cut the stems, you can replant the healthy cuttings to make a dense bush.
