Recorded in January 2020, Gojira has sat on ‘Fortitude’ for a hot minute. As an exhilarating live band, perhaps they, like the rest of the metal community, weren’t sure if releasing an album made sense without touring. Or maybe they didn’t want its universal messages of unity, preservation, and re-education to become lost in the mire of a pandemic. But despite the delay, ‘Fortitude’ couldn’t sound more relevant in a post-COVID world. ‘The Trails’ is an urgent call to action that has more in common with Deftones than Cannibal Co**se, while the bone-crushing ‘Into The Storm’ is exactly the sort of epic metal rager you’d want to hear on Download Festival’s main stage.

This is an important album, not only because it extends Gojira’s palette and cements their place as one of metal’s most skilled and uncompromising bands. They’re also one of the most inspiring as they call for strength, for action, and above all for fortitude. Fortitude is an unexpected and absolutely mind-blowing album from Gojira and we definitely recommend everyone to check it out. Let us know if you liked it in the comments! Blood Sugar S*x Magik marked a major career turning point for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Despite years of toiling in college-rock trenches, the L.A. funk-rock quartet still hadn’t managed to transcend their “cult band” status by the time the Nineties rolled round. But with 1991’s Blood Sugar S*x Magik, the Chili Peppers pole-vaulted to superstardom. The first RHCP album for their new label, Warner Bros., that reached Number Three on the Billboard 200; it would go on to sell over 13 million copies worldwide.
Blood Sugar S*x Magik begins with a couple of rap songs with funk backing – “The Power OF Equality” and “If You Have to Ask”. The album then suddenly takes a sharp turn with “Breaking the Girl”, one of its more melodic tracks and a complete departure from the hip-hop/funk. Here the album starts to get much more interesting. Following “Breaking the Girl” is Flea’s slap-bass fueled “Funky Monks”, complete with high-pitched chorus vocals and a more interesting arrangement. This is followed by the heavier “Suck My Kiss”, an excellent song of pure energy. A softer, almost love song follows called “I Could Have Lied”.
“Under the Bridge” was at first considered one of those songs that did “not fit the style” of the band. It was written by Kiedis as he reflected on his he**in and co***ne addictions. It started as a poem which Rubin stumbled upon and suggested Kiedis show it to the rest of the band. He sang the verse to Frusciante, they began structuring the song. After the song was recorded, Frusciante invited his mother, Gail and her friends, all of whom sang in a choir, to perform the outro.
Unfortunately, as the 17-song album goes along much of the later material tends to be repetitive and overdone. Despite some of the shortcomings, With Blood Sugar S*x Magik, the Chili Peppers set out to make their best possible album, which would be long remembered, and they definitely accomplished that goal.

"Godzilla" is a single by American hard rock band Blue Öyster Cult, the first track from the band's fifth studio album Spectres. It's not More Cowbell but the band rocks out remotely on Godzilla.
"Godzilla" encapsulates the Cult's stylistic attitude: the conceit of the tune must inevitably be larger than its ex*****on. The song lyrics depict famous scenes of Godzilla films, the legendary monster Godzilla as it destroys the city of Tokyo. Like the Godzilla movies, this song is pure camp, with guitar riffs heavy as lead and a closing lyric that sums up the lesson of this story: History shows again and again How nature points up the folly of men.
“Godzilla” has also received a modern re-imagining courtesy of System of a Down frontman Serj Tankian and is featured in the upcoming movie "Godzilla: King of the Monsters".
This timeless rock classic was covered and performed at the Cult' Weekend 21 organised by the Cultural Council of IIT(BHU). The perfectly synchronised vocalists are aradhana and ayush of First Year. On the instruments we have Yash Singh Parihar, a Guitar Maestro from 3rd Year..

There's a winning humility to Mastodon. They've regularly crashed the Billboard Top 10 since their fourth album, 2009's Crack the Skye, which tempered their furious progressive thrash with classic rock flourishes. So, we'll be talking about Mastodon's Crack the Skye, a sprawling prog metal masterpiece dealing with astral travel, wormhole theory, Rasputin and su***de.
The seven songs on Crack the Skye stretch over about 50 minutes, an indulgent track-length average for any band. In terms of guitars, the riffs are heavily Sabbath inspired and the vocals are largely in that almost off-key Ozzy style drone. The drumming is insane.
While there really isn’t a bad track on the album, the best of them are the most classically progressive in Czar and The Last Baron, both of which benefit from some fantastic guitar work. Weaker songs are Quintessence (mentioned above) and Crack The Skye – which is musically excellent.
Like a lot of prog bands, at their worst they are impressive and at their best they are mesmerising.

The vocals are haunting, the instrumentation is phenomenal, production is crisp, and the song is incredibly well-written. No this isn't about 70s Rock, this is about "Reptile" by American Prog Metal band Periphery.

Reptile has a banger tune throughout, an irresistible charm and a perfect flow, something that fans of all Rock genres would agree on.

Taking matters into his own hands, we have 'Yash Singh Parihar', 3rd year and one of our own to bring you a nailed on guitar cover for this daunting melody. This brilliant piece of work is hopefully remembered throughout the years and shall build on the legacy of the club!

From the band that gave us the epic guitar riff G.O.A.T, we now present you Polyphia’s 'New Levels New Devils', their 2018 album which they themselves boast about by going on to say "This is probably the best music in the history of music." Well not many could disagree with Tim Henson, eh.
This current amalgamation of prog-hip-hop-trap-metal-whatever is uncharted territory and had us saying "Wtf is this Mind-Bending Genre?" because it deserves a big acknowledgement for what Polyphia have been able to come up with. Staying to true their roots, it's the catchy bombastic guitar-work that make Polyphia great remains intact.
While not full on Metal, you'll surely love the Twisting Piece of Rock Music that Polyphia provides us with!
