बनारसी रात ,
शांत सी बहती गंगा ,
आराम करते घाट ,
बहुत से चेहरे ,
कुछ उलझे , कुछ खिलखिलाते , कुछ उदास,
बहुत कुछ कहती,बोलती आंखे ,
उलझनों को छिपाती,
हंसती हुई आंखे ,
चुपचाप दिल में फुसफुसाती,
सारी अनकही बातें ,
तारों के आगोश में चमकता चांद ,
दूर तक टिमटिमाते बहुत से बल्ब
गंगा में उभरते उनके अक्श,
यूं ही तैरती , खोई से कश्ती ,
इंसान का वजूद , दुनिया को बताती , समझदार कश्ती ,
इंसान को दुनिया , दुनिया को बनारस बनाते
कुछ प्रेमी जोड़े एक दूसरे को संवारते ,
गंगा की लहरों सा अमर
कुछ प्रेमी जोड़ों का मिलन
आलाप करती बनारसी घंटियां ,
ग़ालिब को भी जिन्होंने लुभा लिया वही घंटियां
दिन भर की चहल पहल से दूर ,
वैराग्य ,शांति , और कला से भरपूर ,
खूब - खूबसूरत है सोता हुआ बनारस ,
आओ कभी घूमों, खुद को सुबह के लिए तैयार करता,
थका हुआ बनारस ।।

Parizaad is a Pakistani drama in which parizaad , the main character, is born and raised in an underprivileged family, is always mocked for dark skin colour. His romantic overtures are always met with rejection due to his appearance and financial status.

In 1956, on Dhammachakra Pravartan Din, Dr Ambedkar and his followers embraced Buddhism at a Buddhist sacred monument in Nagpur called Deekshabhoomi. On this day, many Buddhists gather at Deekshabhoomi to celebrate the mass convertion .
After embracing Buddhism and renouncing Hinduism, Dr Ambedkar said, "By discarding my ancient religion which stood for inequality and oppression, today I am reborn."
Dr Ambedkar, in addition, had also made 22 pledges one of which is, "I thereby reject my old religion, Hinduism, which is detrimental to the prosperity of humankind and which discriminates between man and man and which treats me as inferior."
