Page to Stage is a Theatre Company, that offers a platform for communities and people of all ages and abilities, to come together and explore their passion for theatre. Our philosophy of "Theatre for a Cause" guides our efforts to initiate dialogue, engage and empower audiences to create a positive change in society, within the family and oneself.
At Page to Stage, we offer-
1. Theatre Clubs:
*We conduct year-long Theatre Clubs to teach various aspects of theatre to children, teenagers and adults. Our Theatre Clubs are:
Little Stars Club (3-7 years); Junior Actors Club (8-10 years); Young Actors Club (11-13 years); Premier Edition Club (14-18 years); & Amateur Actors Club for Adults (anyone above 18 years)
*We offer theatre in 3 venues at Vadodara: Splatter Studio (Productivity Road), EduClub (Manjalpur), and Stepping Stones (Vasna-Gotri Road).
2. Workshops:
*We offer short-term workshops for all ages- vacation workshops for children & adults; and workshops in schools, corporates, NGO’s etc.
3. Theatrical Productions & Festivals:
a) We create and perform professional, high quality productions, with our troupe of actors.
*Our highly acclaimed multi-lingual production "Hazaaron Khwaab Roshan Hai" was performed at NCPA in Mumbai (Ananda Theatre Festival), Natarani in Ahmedabad.(Natarani-Darpana Academy's Third Bell), and in Vadodara (CC Mehta Auditorium), in 2015.
*Our "Page to Stage ka Macbeth" was performed at Natarani in Ahmedabad, and both CC Mehta Auditorium and Baroda Medical Auditorium in Vadodara in 2017-19.
*Other productions include: “@trans.com”; “Two Tales of New York”; “Ped bana Prime Minister”, on stage in Vadodara.
*To celebrate Dussehra, we created modern adaptations of Ramayana, with our successful productions of “Ramavesh: Story of Rama & Sita” in 2018; and “RamaVesh: Gangs of Gurukul” in 2019. These productions are in the traditional ‘bhavaai’ form of story telling, with live music and dance along with the story enacted on stage.
*We designed and directed “Hiraeth: The Voice of One’s Spirit” for Cygnus World School, in December 2019, as a culmination of working with their students.
b) Theatre Festivals: We organized two theatre festivals in 2019- Theatre Trio Treat (3 plays by 3 companies) at CC Mehta Auditorium, Vadodara on 1-2-3 March; and Shakespeare Theatre Festival (2 plays by 2 companies) at Natarani, Ahmedabad on 29-30 March. The plays featured were: “Macbeth” (Page to Stage); “Raavto” and “Bas Itna sa Khwaab” (Geet Theatre); and “Strangers in the Night” (Shamiana).
c) We organized and curated an homage to Mahatma Gandhi “150 years of the Mahatma” on 2nd October 2019, to celebrate Gandhiji’s 150th birth anniversary, in collaboration with Alembic Art District. The homage included a skit “Gandhi/Godse” by Geet Theatre, a Kathak performance “Champaran se Bapu” by Shivani Verma; and an exhibition of Gandhiji’s letters and photos in collaboration with Vadodara Heritage Trust (photos & letters from the private collections of Geeta Gandhi Goradia and Visharad Patel).
4. Theatre for a Cause: We collaborate with NGO’s and social organizations to assist their endeavours through theatre and short films-
*"Ek Safar: Stree se Sakhi Tak”: a street play on the Sakhi story of menstrual health awareness and women's empowerment - created for Sakhi Sanitary Napkin Project and Vatsalya Foundation. We created and performed a nukkad (street play) for Sakhi at Mumbai and Vadodara. We also created a film of this nukkad, which has been screened by Sakhi in over 300 villages and communities all over India.
*"26/11: Lest we forget"- a theatrical presentation in honour of the victims of 26/11 terrorist attacks in Mumbai, was performed in Vadodara.
*Short film on Organ Donation Awareness for MG Vadodara International Marathon, was screened by Vadodara Marathon in movie theatres and on their social media; as part of their community service initiatives.
*Workshops conducted for NavKaushalya (Savitaben Amin Institute for Girls & Women), Navprerna; Eklavya; and Udayan Shalini Foundation
*Designed, directed and produced “Hum Compromise Karte Hain”: a skit performed by students of Navprerna for an audience, after a month long workshop with the children.
5. Trinity College London:
*We are the REC (Registered Exam Centre) for Trinity College London, based in Vadodara. We offer registration, coaching services and exam venue for all dramatics related examinations conducted by Trinity College London. We are proud to share that most students who choose our focussed, individualised coaching sessions, attain distinctions in their Trinity examinations; while learning valuable skills and develop self-confidence along the way.
*We collaborate with Banyan Club and Eloquence in Vadodara, to offer Trinity courses and registration to their students.
