सिर्फ 13 साल की उम्र में गुरिंदरवीर सिंह से कहा गया था कि 100 मीटर छोड़ दो भारतीय Sprinter नहीं बन सकते, हमारे Body type में वो Speed नहीं होती। लेकिन आज वही लड़का भारतीय एथलेटिक्स का इतिहास बदल चुका है।

रांची में आयोजित Federation Cup 2026 में Gurindervir Singh ने पुरुषों की 100 मीटर दौड़ सिर्फ 10.09 सेकंड में पूरी की और ऐसा करने वाले पहले भारतीय बन गए, जिन्होंने 10.1 सेकंड से कम समय लिया।

सबसे खास बात यह रही कि उन्होंने 24 घंटे के भीतर दो बार राष्ट्रीय रिकॉर्ड तोड़ा। सेमीफाइनल में रिकॉर्ड थोड़ी देर के लिए उनसे छिन गया…लेकिन फाइनल में वह और भी तेज लौटे।

फिनिश लाइन पार करने के बाद उन्होंने अपना bib नंबर फाड़कर ट्रैक पर फेंका। उस पर लिखा था — “Task is not finished yet.”

यह सिर्फ एक timing या record की कहानी नहीं है… यह उस सोच को तोड़ने की कहानी है, जो सालों से कहती थी कि भारतीय sprinters दुनिया से मुकाबला नहीं कर सकते।

आज Gurindervir Singh सिर्फ दौड़ नहीं रहे बल्कि एक पूरी पीढ़ी को यह विश्वास दिला रहे हैं कि Indian genes में भी speed और दम दोनों हैं।
